so im moving from the eastcoast to the rockies next year and want to get a new setup. i want to get touring bindings, but im wondering on their resistance to shock from dropping cliffs, pillows and lip.
anyone got info on that?
also which one wuld you recommend for a cheap budget
Skis, bindings + skins, not to mention possibly boots depending on the route you go PLUS beacon, probe, shovel and pack, it ads up fast!
If you are looking for a inbounds/sidecountry/touring and of the duke/barons/guardians/Adrenalins will be great for you. Stout, can handle cliffs and jumps, skis great inbounds and back to the lifts too. Plus you can scoop barons/duke pretty cheap used.
Then you have the option of Marker Dukes, Barons, F12, F10 Atomic/Salomon/Look Tracker/Guardian/What ever Look calls it 16 and 12, then any other brand variant of the Tyrolia Adrenaline 13/16 or Ambition.
I would go bca alpine trekker and invest the rest of the money into a back country 101 course when you get out here along with a beacon, probe, shovel. Do not bother taking a back country 101 or avy 1 out east. You want to learn with the snow pack you will be riding on.
Your mind will be blown once you get out here and try not to huck yourself too hard cause that is all you are going to want to do.
