Calling drop

So we got these dudes in the park, calling drop; as they drop.

How is this different from just dropping?

True that, I ski at a rather small hill and its overpopulated by little snowboarding children that just bomb it from the lift line and get hurt or taken out because their too stupid to have some patience. Or they will just sit right in front of the drop line and stay there for like 15mins doing nothing.

So yeah, in those situations I usually call drop, or just go. Depends on the situation, dont yell drop if the park is baren and your the only one around lol

I never call drop, coming from park that is 98% snowboarders (I'm serious) they pretty much don't give two shits if you call drop. I've tried it before but its no use.. Unless I'm in the North Park which is more bigger shit half of the people call drop but the other half are fucking kids using the "ramps" so its no use.

just go when you want. Its like stopping at a stop sign. Someone has to go, if both of you go at the same time, stop and motion "after you".

Its pretty fucking easy. all you have to do is get a feel for the normal time spacing between drops for that park and then just fit righht in.

Most folks have earbuds in anyways so they cant hear you call "drop!".

Usually just go with the vibe of everyone else. If people are calling drops then I'll call it. But most of the time I treat the park like a skatepark. pay attention to everyone elses lines around you and work with the flow.

joeys tend to wait longer than people who are more experienced. I usually only stop for a second before a jump then I either follow someone who looks like they will land or wait for a good opening

its funny because I find the only people who actually wait around in the park are posers who have no plans of hitting anything. If youre hot lapping people will always let you through

btw, if you're hot lapping you shouldn't have to call your drop. that's how parks are designed to be skied.

know the code: when merging, look uphill and yeild to others. this means that if you are sitting in a line to hit a feature, and a guy comes from above you off of another feature, and wants to continue his line to the next feature, they have the right of way.. black and white.

usually everyone looks around, you kind've send/receive vibes if someone or yourself wants to drop. Or you just slide down a little lower than everyone else like you want to go. idk strattons pretty good with the whole no snake stuff unless some tourist gets in the way or snowboards are in their own fucking world.

I usually get into that weird situation where im like 20-40 ft uphill from where all the gapers are dropping to get enough speed for my trick so i just fuckking scream drop as loud as i can and everyones get out of the way like of shit this kids comin in hot.
