I'm sitting up here in oregon praying that the weather turns around and we start to get pounded with snow. As I'm sitting here I'm wondering what the summer camps are going to do if the weather doesn't go back to normal soon. I.e HCSC, Windells, MHSSC. We are desperate for snow. We've had sunny sky's daily for the last week, and looks that way going for another. Temps dimp to just above freezing over night. I was up on Palmer the other day ( yes the lift is open... It's usually buried under snow.) and its pretty bare up there. Anyway, I don't know actual statistics as to where we are usually at but I can't imagine it's anywhere close.
Anyway, anyone have any input? I hear this happens every 10 years or so. Locals got any input? Huge ULLR party in govy?
They will eventually get snow. Pattern change in 12-14 days...
Overall, I would highly assume well below average winter. Which will have quite a bit impact on the summer season. I am sure stuff will still go on, but probably just not to the extent as in past.
The past couple of Januaries have been pretty dry. This year the Fall was unusually dry but we have plenty of time to make that up. I always feel like the meat of the winter is more like February and March. For now I'm just loving this blue sky skiing.
I know that MHSSC will have as many sessions as possible, and give credit for the next year to anyone who signed up but didn't get to go because of no snow. I would guess that the others will do something similar.
