Ski rebuild help

Ok. I have a pair of surface new life's and I decided to take them for a park run. Hit the tip of my ski on a rail and part of the edge has popped out as well as the base and a couple layers have separated. I was going to try to use a combination of superglue, epoxy, clamps and a mallet to try and rebuild it.

Anyone have any experience with something similar? Any help would be awesome. I'll post pictures when I get to my computer.

I have rivets that use in this situation. epoxy them in with a ski epoxy (FLexible!) and youll be fine. The ones I have have a little metal thing that goes around the edge and then attaching to the other side, preventing it from blowing out sideways.

epoxy, but first make sure that the edge is bent back in because the last thing you want is it getting caught on something and tearing the edge out of the whole ski

just cut the edge out and use lots of epoxy lol fuck it.

Awesome. What's the difference between regular epoxy and ski specific epoxy? Will regular epoxy work ok?

There's a few differences, Most ski specific epoxies are waterproof, but any marine grade epoxy will cover you in that regard, the more important feature is that most ski epoxies retain some flexibility after they cure. I would say with the positioning of your crack it's not really vital to have a flexible epoxy

So took it to a local ski shop and they said to repair it they would have to take a chunk out of the ski and rebuild it. You can't really see in the picture but a little further back on the tip there's almost a change in the shape... It looks like the ski has almost been bent. Still will probably epoxy and superglue.

Updated advice..?

Make sure the core isn't snapped, cause that's kind of an issue.

Did you take it into Al's? If this is the ski I'm thinking of these pictures don't quite do it justice

Yes. Quoted 120 or so. To my understanding they said they might have to cut a chunk out and rebuild from there
