Hey guys, I finally finished my submission for the Filmerunknown Entry. I'd love to get some feedback and critiques on it. I'm bummed some of the shots are so dark but they are from the earlier stages of using a camera.
I really really dug the intro, I'm a sucker for the cliche snow falling shot, but after you started getting into the skiing I felt like it was all just a little too much of the same: medium-wide shots, a lot on glidecam, no clear intention to really compose a shot, etc. I mean I think it was better than most everything else I've seen for FilmerUnknown but I think if you really take time to conceptualize a shot and compose it, you'll get much better footage.
I definitely know what you mean. I have such a hard time filming skiing because I just want to be skiing myself and become too lazy to break out my slider/tripod etc. I need to get better about focusing on filming during ski season rather than wanting to ride all the time haha.
Very nice work on yours though. You killed the slider shots!
This is the first filmerunknown entry i've watched. I think you're a real good shooter. I'm very impressed. You clearly know your shit about sound too, which I think is impressive for any DSLR owner. I somewhat agree with what someone else said about cropping it. It may not have needed to be cropped, but I like the crop factor on vids, so idk.
When people say this I feel like they're not even listening to the song...the crashes are in there for a reason. But maybe I didn't convey my idea as strongly as I had hoped.
