His final run had a sick triple in it, but his rails were poor and his first three jumps were two dubs, one of which was a double wildcat. That's not particularly 'nuts'.
But I'm just sore cos Billy Morgan didn't get through (who did better jumps, but his triple wasn't as good), and if your going to play the location game I used to ride the dryslopes in Southampton and Calshott with him. I last saw him last summer, he said he's putting two triples in his slopestyle runs. That's 'nuts'.
Not reading anymore because I'm watching everything after it happens. Flipped on the snowboard slope elimination though.
Guy does a front blunt 450 out on the first down rail, throws a solid enough run and gets a 57. The head judge came in later to explain that they didn't see anything technical like they would in later runs.
My question is, do the judges even notice the rails on these courses? I've wondered this the last few years. It seems to be about the jumps and you could take off your skis/board and slide down the rails on your stomach as long as you throw a couple triple corks at the bottom.
Also if you don't know a 450 out is way more difficult on a board than skis, especially on a down rail. Obviously he has them on lock but it's a hell of a lot more risky than just a 2.
In slopestyle 1 fall and you're done, but what's the point of throwing down anything tech on the rails if the judges won't notice?
That's what I was thinking. If he triple corked onto the rail he'd be fine. Someone else through a slightly better run with a shittier version of that trick and some of the same tricks on the jumps and got 30 points higher.
The rest of the judging wasn't TOO bad though. I try not to hate on keir the guy announcing the snowboarding cause he used to tear up the pipe but whatever. He was bitching that people didn't triple when they tripled calling 450's 270s etc. When it happens fast I don't expect every trick to be called perfect, every grab to be mentioned, but some shit is just impossible to miss unless you're a goober.
it's always been like that, seriously as long as i can remember
like you said, if you fall once youre toast and tech rail tricks aren't the kind of thing even the best riders have on lock 10 times out of 10 so pair that with the judges not paying attention to the rail section much and it's no surprise we don't see much rail action
you're a fucking douche bag. I dont think you understand how hard it is on you're body to hit big jumps and send it all the time like he does. With the level of skiing nowadays, the slightest fuck up in a trick can result in injury. With the slightest knee injury, its way better that he takes the time off and not completely fuck his knee over. To sum it up, I don't think that you would ever hit the X course with a bad knee and then also go into what will be the largest showing of our sport to the world ever.
you basically just confirmed my point, the fact that he hits jumps that size most days, it WEARS out your body, like most thinks wear out after alot of use.
