Jobs in Whistler

How hard is it to get a job in Whistler? What seems to be some of the more popular jobs- construction, food service? Thanks for any help.

There are lots of jobs. Depending on your experience, you can pick up a job at dishwashing, serving, cleaning, or housekeeping really easily... I'd suggest getting an onhill job though, like events or trail crew... These jobs don't pay much, but you get a pass and you will get paid to ski basically! Otherwise you'll spend every day working your ass off just trying to pay your bills and you'll never get to ski... Night jobs are good too! Talk to the hotels like Chateau Whistler, and the Westin. Are there any large corperations near Whistler?? Like huge office buildings etc.

I work at the Nike shop in the Pan Pacific Hotel, it's a rental shop in the winter and the best part is that it's open till 9 pm so that most of the time even if you are working you can ski until noon. This past winter I got an average of 5 days per week. I guess I would just look for something that offers shifts at night if you can (that is of course, if skiing is your only priority).

um... Intra west is the biggest corperation. but there are no office buildings really. well there is function....... hmm.

what if you have no experience working on a mtn? i mean i go there all the time and i have retail exp, would it hurt me if i havn't worked on a hill before?

you could always just move to vancouver, tons of offices everywhere and it's only an hour and a half to whistler and it;s about 30 mins to the local mtns.
