Replying to Moment Frankenski Technology

I've been looking at this ski extensively and have come to the conclusion that it is my dream ski. However, this ski underfoot has a disconnected edge that is filled in with base material instead of the actual edge to help prevent the wear of the metal edge on rails. My concern is that once the base material underfoot wears out I will catch the disconnected edge on surface swaps and presses. Has anyone had any experience with this technology or can anyone who knows a little about the product offer insight?
