I dont understand why they brought Joss on the team. He is extremely talented and has been very consistent lately, however all countries care about is getting medals. In my opinion Joss will not be able to pull out a podium run, his best run will not match up to those that will throw a triple in the contest and with many with the triple it will be hard to see him get a podium.

im not too bummed. it sucks, but at the same time he is probably going to take the same path as dumont. you all know tom will probably put together a mind-blowing segment again in the next 4 years. i wouldn't lose sleep over this. He'll be back.

From what I had heard UNTIL grand prix at park city, tom was going to be picked. As soon as grand prix came along, alot of different stories started floating around and I even posted in this thread that I was unsure.

Either way, its a "coaches" pick so honestly we cant say/do anything about it, its based on their discretion and they made their choice, nothing we do/say is going to change anything.

OK thanks for diffusing my anger. I'm just angry, sad and disappointed by this decision. I think the majority of people on NSers were under the impression that Tom would be on the team. He has been the spokeman representing our sport the past 2 yrs.Tom was even part of designing the uniforms! What a slap in the face! I made a big assumption that barring injury, he would be on the team. Just such a big let down.

If you are thinking about it that way well then,  tanner hall has one hell of a resume oh and what about candide same here, he won about every important competition that exists. If tom is on that level he needed to prove this early season, which he obviously didn't do. The problem is, everyone was so sure he was qualified probably even himself that he did not have to "try". Don't get me wrong he laid down some sick runs, which are extremly hard to do, but he did not push it harder and that is why he didn't make it. For the olympics it's not who was the best last year or in november, it's who's the best right now.
Honestly not to bitch on tom as he has accomplished so much up to now, but doing the same run three years in a row is BORING. What if all the skiers were doing the same run for the past 3 years? BORING. Tom was ahead of the game 3 years ago with that run. I'm glad that 3 years later this run does not cut it.
Again I've got nothing but respect for tom and for what he has done but I think he needed to UP THE ANTE.
Overall everyone can agree that he deserves to be in the olympics, but he's not top 4 in team usa, so it is what it is.

grow up. joss is such a solid guy who has been up and coming and on top of his shit for years. it's a damn shame that so many of you can be so butt-hurt about tom not making the team while there are 4 world class americans ready to send it and do cool fucking tricks on the world stage.

WHY DON'T WE JUST GIVE ALL THE MEDALS TO TOM WALLISCH? WOULD THAT MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY?

i honestly don't understand why people are even questioning this. It's the fucking olympics and he qualified to perform on a world stage. You think because he tweaked his knee he's just gonna sit the olympics out? He's gonna fucking send it, the chances of him going to the next Olympics is tiny, so why wouldn't he?
