I know there are alot Canadians on here, anyone care about the slope and pipe team.
My guesses are Abm, noah Morrison, vinnie cash and not sure on the fourth. What's your guesses

And pipe, not really educated but I'll guess with riddle, Dorey,marg... I got no clue

hes dope man, he can now switch triple 12, olympics are gonna need a triple in your run to podium. i love vinnie and his creativity but the judges will be fags and will just wanna see spins on spins on spins

I think w/o having any podiums bellemare, morrison and vinny might have a hard time making the team unlike ABM with great comp results this season. We will have to wait and see.

I think the man is focusing solely on big air comps this year, and has no intentions on competing at Sochi. He isn't even listed on the CFSA's slopestyle team page:

we get 26 for all 5 events for both genders.

first of all, fuck skiercross. now assuming that they take 5 spots, then that leaves 21 spots for the real sports. If they take 6 spots I'll be straight pissed.

If I could choose the team, this is what it would be:

aerials: 2

moguls: 7

mikael
marquis

slope: 5
kim
turski

pipe: 7
ross

riddle

total is 21. If we only got 20 spots I think it would be either margets, keltie or phillipe who would not make it. Although they all deserve to be there (as does blais, hicks, and quite a few others).

I am probably missing someone who is pre-qualified lol.

Wrong alex "b" man, hes talking about bellemare, you're talking about bealiu-marchland, A.K.A. ABM (excuse my spelling) don't worry, it used to confuse me too, especially since they're both canadian, and both slopestyle athletes

Ski Cross have qualified 8 spots, same as moguls. They also have the highest strongest chance of medal contention parallel with moguls. The max they will take is 7, more likely to be 6 athletes. It would be very surprising if it was only 5.

It just means they can take 8 people, not that they necessarily will take that many. As I said it's more likely they will take 6 possibly 7 for ski cross as they have such a strong team. The quota just gives the max amount of people per gender, per even the country can take.

I don't believe they have announced the moguls team yet. But looking at the standings they have a pretty solid team lined up. Most likely to be 6-8 people.

no I realized this. I just was hoping we would only send 5 skiercross people.

I also can only really think of 7 mogul skiers. was just wondering who the fourth guy was?

apparently we are only sending one aerialist. no women in that discipline.

I haven't been keeping up much. Will we be expecting doubles in women's slope? Or pipe? What sort of runs do we expect in the female division?

from what I can tell, in halfpipe girls will be throwing 540s and 900s with sloppy or no grabs. Kaya will probably win the slope with the same tricks that have put her on the podium for the past 5 years. Hopefully, Kim Lamarre qualifies and will throw down a steezy run.

If we win something I'll be stoked. But I just want Canada to show up and put style in the forefront of our skiing. If we lose, I'll be happy so long as the skiers kept it looking good,

The Canadian teams focus really is moguls this season, sucks for Freeski but our bump team hasn't been this stacked since ze' Air Force days.

Kinda bummed that we are only sending ABM for slopestyle, although he is a king diversification is never a bad thing. Throw Bellemare in the mix, hes a bit of a wildcard but in the best possible way.

I honestly am glad that we are taking more mens pipe skiers than slope skiers, as Riddle, Marg and Dorey are all very possible medal threats versus slope where only ABM has been a serious contender this season.

We might not have the depth of the USA, but I would be proud as hell to send ABM and Bellmare to represent Canada. Always gotta give props to guys that shred comps and also film with crews like Stept and Level 1.

honestly I'm a bit disapointed with the lack of slopestyle skiers in the mix. For example, VInce Gagnier  and Alex Bellemare is showing some good progression, and definetly has potential  to do well. Sending 4 pipe skiers and 1 slopestyle is a bit lame.

Fuck the US team, ABM is a way radder skier all around than any of the robotic jabronis that were named to the team last night. I know Canada has better more well rounded skiers and I just wish that whoever made this selection chose to emphasize that more than they did.

Im stoked about the pipe guys though all great fucking canadian kids.

ABM is a real freestyle skier. He holds down a tight fliming and comp schedule and manages to kill both. No one named on the US slope team so far does that

May be true, but doesn't matter how rad the Canadian skiers are the US skiers are better at winning comps and that's all that matters unfortunately. The picks were made based on who can win medals, not who will put down the nicest run.

Gagnier's runs are way more awesome than practically any other, but they don't win and won't win in Sochi unless the judging is completely different than what we've been seeing. So they'll send a skiercross dude with a better chance at a podium.

Sooo, I'm really bummed vinni and noah won'T be able to go.
noah wanted so bad and to give his spot to a pipe skier is unfair (don't freakout I'll explain why)
so basically in order to be sure to go to sochi,, a rider needed 2 podiums on international comps which noah couldn'T exactly do. now the pipe skiers did it, but they did it in spain and calgary. there was no one at both of these contests and the riders who got 2nd and 3rd managed to be on the podium without even doing a double. now canada thinks they can podium at olympics but that is just not true (or almost) since the whole field will be there hucking both ways dubs.
now I'm not hating on anyone don't get me wrong. I just think the pipe roster was a little peculiar.
and as for bellemare he is trying to learn his old tricks again, recovering from his blown knee.
it would not be wise for canada to send him over there, atleast not from their POV

Pumped on Kim. Even if she doesn't win, we'll have the steeziest female skier there. Our pipe team has some serious potential. As for slope, if they're only taking one, I can't complain about ABM.
