Where do I go in the West?

I live in Arizona and have a season pass at my resort here, but we're having a horrendous season and I've decided I'm gonna go out in March to go ski somewhere else for 4-5 days.

My family is coming with and they don't want to go too far, so here are my options:

1) Anywhere in CO
2) Anywhere in UT
3) Taos, NM
4) Tahoe (maybe)

Where do I go? Keep in mind that I do not ski park at all and I really am looking for a good place to ski glades and trees and also find some nice powder. Some resorts I'm strongly considering include Crested Butte, Copper Mountain, and Keystone. I've skied Copper Mountain and Keystone when I was younger and had a good time but I wasn't half the skier then that I am now. I kinda am thinking I should stay away from Vail because its expensive and I'm concerned there will be long lift lines (considering its a world renown resort). Am I correct in that precaution?

Help me out NS. Where should I go skiing in March?

Alta/snowbird both are great mountains to ski

cant beat march, or springtime for that matter in utah. bird is awesome in march as well as alta.

Taos has been relatively bare. Oregon has been holding it down from what I've heard, but I haven't been there myself.

The Butte would be a good call. Telluride and Wolf Creek could be good CO options as well.

PC can be fun and good if you've got a family, lots of terrain options and you've got some apres options for everyone.

ive always had really good luck with steamboat in colorado. really good feel there and its has great trails. also a pretty good park too

Dude go to Telluride. It's not a bad drive at all from Flagstaff (I'm assuming that's where you ski) and it would be a sweet trip. Snowbowl is a joke compared to CO, you'll have a blast.

Honestly, wait as long as possible before making that decision. Colorado is having a good year, Utah is right around average, and Tahoe is having a crap year. But who knows between now and then. Watch the weather reports and see what the snowpack and forcasts are doing right before you leave.

just live in SLC, sure you will have to deal with teh mormons but you have brighton, pc, snowbird and alta
