Afterbangs were shorter by 23cm and had a thinner base on them and they were HEAVY
Heavier in fact then the Snowboarding is Cool.
Initially the day was super icy, and I started around 9:30 to take my first couple of runs. Just going to the park from the chair I noticed a couple of things initially:
1. How playful the ski was.
2. How light it was.
3. It felt like there was literally no edge; completely non-existent.
As I waited at the top of the park for about two minutes to see what kind of a set up they had I eventually called my drop(just kidding I was the only person there) and went up to a up flat down butter box and planned on a 180 on 180 on the box and pop 180 out. Seems simple right? Yeah I woulda thought so too but to my dismay after my 180 on I slid out halfway through the 180 surface swap and took a little tumble. Shaking it off I went down and continued through the park hitting the flat box first and then later the battleship box and noticed how well they slid and acted on rails; I was truly shocked since it made my abangs seem like a piece of garbage and I cant believe I skied them for 3 seasons without even trying other skis.
After about 4 or 5 more hot laps I noted at how much of a struggle it was to actually carve, turn and stop on the ski which was somewhat of a disappointment. I proceeded to going into our condo and waited it out for an hour and a half because it was progressively warming up to the point that it would become spring skiing which would be better then the hardpacked, ungroomed ice. This time as I skied around I noticed that still edges weren't existent in the least bit. The ski was still extremely hard to deal with throughout the day when I wasn't in the park but for every time I went up to hit a rail or box it felt like absolute heaven.
So all in all after the first time skiing on these skis I am leaving it with this:
1. Amazing ski, 100% worth every penny I spent on it as well as so well made and the design is virtually flawless in my opinion.
2. Regardless of the problems with skiing to and from the park I'm still very glad I decided to go with this ski.
3. Rating out of ten I'd give the ski a 9. Only thing differently that I would do is not make it so damn beautiful. So in reality it scored pretty big with a 10/10.
4. Still having a super hard time getting used to the switch from skis. Still dealing with the thicker width, longer length, and lighter ski but that will come quickly with the amount of skiing I'll hopefully be putting in.
Review- Complete.
