How long Will my Macbook pro Retina 15 inch Last?

hey so i was wondering how long will my computer last before it gets outdated or to slow to run things? here are the specs:

I'm 3 years down the line with my 13" mbp. Still going strong editing in Photoshop, coding, compiling video, word processing and generally wasting time on the internet. Longest I've ever had a laptop without feeling like I'm missing out on something... Do it.

Me and friends have had poor experiences with the newer mac books. Hard drive failures, corrupted EFI, broken sound, overheating etc. I literally don't know a single person who hasn't had a major issue, but I goto uni where everyone has one and treats them questionably. I assume you're gettin this for video editing so I'll just say that any computer with a good processor and a lotta ram can edit video just fine. Just get a laptop with an intel i7 processor and at least 8 gigs of ram. If you want to can throw in a graphics card, but most video editing software is CPU intensive so it'd just be good for gaming. If you can, build a PC and you'll basically get a lot more for a lot less, but sacrifice mobility.

Have you ever used Adobe Premiere or After Effects in depth? A graphics card definitely can help out in those programs, not just for gaming.

NEVER EVER FALL INTO THE UPDATE TRAP. Updates have ruined otherwise perfect Apple products for me.
