Air bag help

I am going to use an airbag this weekend and i fucking hate the things but i fear it is my only chance of learning flatspins soon. In the past when I have used them they have badly chipped my skis because they slam into each other when i land and never landing in a comfortable position. When i do land on my feet, i usually flop onto my head. I also fall off the side. Any tips or help on doing flat 3s onto them?

Dont be a pussy and just do it on snow. That way if you land on your feet you most likely will ski away instead of being bucked to your face.

this. honestly if you fall in a bad position on snow it will hurt about the same as landing on an airbag. I say just do it to snow and as long as you dont completely fuck up and get injured bad you will feel much better when you land it

What kind of airbag are you hitting? One made out of concrete? I have landed in some of the worst positions on to an airbag and have never once did it even come close to the impact of landing on snow.
Last year, trying to learn doubles, I face/belly flopped prob 10 times.
Wear a helmet and you will be fine. I like it better when there is a little bit of snow on the airbag. So when you land on your skis....you can sometimes continue to ride right off of it, rather then sticking and falling over.

Op....your complaining about the airbag chipping your skis?!?!? Land on your skis and you wont have that problem.

sorry but if youre landing badly enough for it to not be comfortable and safe on the airbag, doesn't that not really bode well for sending it on snow..?

How so? I think they are awesome. Even better if the airbag is set up next to a similar sized jump with a snow landing. That way you can take your tricks directly to snow without any wait.

yeah but where the fuck is that setup? the only airbags i've ever ridden/seen (in europe at least) are the awful quarterpipe style ones designed so whippy that its impossible for gapers to overshoot it. i.e. awful for learning anything apart from backflips.

Powder jump, you can make one out of barely a foot of snow. That's what I did and if you do a true flat spin (not the backflip/sideflip japan grab variation), it's 100% safe. I tried learning them on a powder jump, had the confidence of landing first try, hucked it, got it 3/4 around, slammed hard and tried again. Never landed it because the jump was too small and I flipped on a bad axis, but seriously, do it on a powder jump.

worried about chipping skis eh, as in top sheets? give nosh its about that. if you are worried about water damage into the ski core, you can dap some epoxy on the chips and seal that shit tight. skis are meant to be used, not stare at in an art gallery. a wise friend says "there are two types of skis: unused skis and rock skis. that is all."
