Olympics - Do you give a fuck?

At this point I don't even know anymore. Part of me says "big moment for skiing, world stage... blah blah..." big part of me says "Man do I ever not give a flying rats fucking ass about this shit."

All I know is a bunch of people who know nothing about skiing were really hyped on the contest last night. And IMO thats rad.

I'll admit I fanboyed out more than anticipated.

I really wish we could watch more skiing contests live online worldwide. The x-games would be sweet, but in canada it's next to impossible to watch anything.

Yeah I'm definitely stoked about the Olympics, especially the slope style sweep. One reply said that the Olympics will make skiing too mainstream, and, I think that although they will garner more attention for the sport, the majority of Olympic sports are relatively obscure and that helps to maintain their integrity.

Im going to say CBC has been killing it with the coverage. Internet, TV, phone.....shit we have a big screen TV at work so that I got to watch the finals live while eating lunch in the pipe cutter cat.

I think that this is going to help events like the Dew Tour, and X-Games get more live and comprehensive coverage in Canada.

I really wished Dollo would have won. I didn't think I was going to care that much, but I really wanted him to be the face of freeskiing, or Andreas. Also I am kinda happy that skiing is going the way of snowboarding and is going to be cut into sections. I love that snowboarding has an underground of filmers, and just urban riders that don't have to be straight up contest masters to kill it and be huge in the sport.

I just hate how club programs, and coaching, and training facilities are just going to become even more exclusive, therefor comps are just going to be for kids who are able to learn triples ( and eventually quads) in a safe environment. AKA uber rich kids with parents yelling ' I WANT MY KID TO WIN THE OLYMPICS'. I just think that is not what the sport is about.

I think thats a lot of huge assumptions. Sage Kotsenberg isnt really that dude at all and he just won the Olympics.
