US Women's Olympic Hockey loses to high school boys

BROOKLINE, Mass. — The United States women’s hockey team will be among the top gold medal contenders at the 2014 Winter Olympics, but before the squad heads to Sochi on Feb. 1, it’s preparing for the Games by scrimmaging against New England high school boys. The most recent opponent on Team USA’s schedule was Dexter Southfield, which defeated the U.S. Olympians 6-3 on Sunday afternoon.

Ok, well back in the day the college all star's played against an NFL team, which was usually the Superbowl winner. And guess who almost always won? The NFL team, because they didnt want to look like a bunch of bitches.

Kinda like boys High School hockey having bigger players and used to a different level of play...

women are physically inferior to men...by a lot. Its a biological fact. Doesnt mean they are worse people.

Appreciate womens sports for what they are...and dont compare them to mens sports and everyone wins!

That team actually is historically pretty damn good at Hockey to be honest.

Lot of those kids will go on to play D1 hockey.

MA/NE Prep school hockey historically has been very very strong.

I don't think that this is the first time this has happened. I heard about it happening in Minnesota once too, I'm not too sure if it's true or not but it makes me wonder how often they scrimmage high schools.

this is the same with basically any other sport, the WNBA champions (whoever they are) would almost surely lose to a top prep high school in basketball as well

Every olympics they scrimmage against HS teams, and it's either close or they lose, but still close. Not bad for their psyche, they know their place and when it comes down to it they're going to be playing other women. It's good practice for them though to play against tough competition.
Also, keep in mind this is a team that has recently been put together and has very little chemistry, not like a HS hockey team that has played together with similar playing styles for a long time

but yea, what else is new?
