Thank god that commercial isn't playing anymore as I've noticed tonight. And it's replaced with a Windells ad that has one of the most legendary hip-hop songs of all time. Much more pleasing to hear some Pete Rock and CL before starting a video

Most websites are free. This one is lucky enough to have most of it's fanbase turn off ad block just for it. The least it could do is get ads from things that interest us. I'm ready for your insulting comment.

when will you kids learn that there is no money growing in the ski industry itself. If it weren't for non-endemic sponsors, NS/skiing media outlets, terrain parks and competitions/videos would not be where they are today.

Turning ad block back off. Only turned it on because the ad was longer than some of the videos I wanted to watch.

I'm actually out of college working in finance and investing. So 1. I'm not a kid, and 2. I know how businesses/advertising works. I'm just happy to hear some quality hip-hop before an edit instead of whatever terrible song Target used in their video.

You don't seem to know shit yet about business/advertising because no one uses good music because it costs too much money.

That makes no sense. Target has way more money that Windells, yet they are the ones with the worse music. Right...

I doubt windells paid for their music.
Target hires a company to make their ads and that company probably saves as much money as possible on things like music so they can put more in their pockets.

so you are saying they should spend the money on commercials, but not enough to make them good, so they can make more money?

First of all, for all we know target couldve paid a lot for that song cause their marketing department thought it was "cool"
second, coming from someone (me) who works for a company that does commercial production, we cheap out on music because TBH unless you're running on primetime (altho most primetime ad music sucks, but its expensive) its not really a big deal.
so yes, a production company would spend less money on music to profit more from their deal.
