I don't mean to sound like a goober, but what's the difference between a time lapse and a hyper lapse?

basically a timelapse that moves through space.  most timelapses are just a stationary camera of the sunset or sunrise or whatever or have some slight motion, but these other ones im talking about are like timelapses physically walking with the camera and doing crazy things.  ill embed the videos later and you'll understand

If you have the right equipment, a time lapse of the stars is a good challenge. I've been trying to get one for a while. Right now I'm just practicing getting the settings right but I'll probably give it a try it soon.
