So my season finally started, I had all my new gear ready, I got to the resort, I was really excited, I'd only been riding indoors for the last 8 months. Anyway went up one lift, started skiing down the first proper run of the day and my 2 week holiday. Halfway down the run I had to dodge an unpredictable skier behaving strangely on the slopes, the resulting manoeuvre resulted in me crashing hard, shattering my back protector on landing and breaking my ACL. 10 minutes of riding and my season is over. My first season ending accident in 25 years of skiing and 5 years of riding park ... gutted.
Anyway after getting myself back to the UK from France, I am off to see my doctor tomorrow to organise surgery, my recovery starts here and I was thinking of ways to make a bad situation a little bit more positive by writing a blog about the recovery period to help fellow skiers who may one day be unlucky enough to suffer this nightmare. But before I start writing, do you guys think this would be helpful or not?
Also does anyone have any tips I can both use to help make the recovery go easier and also pass on in the blog to help others?
