Where should i study abroad?

Looking into some places to study abroad for next year and wondering if anyone had good ideas for good locations where i can ski a decent amount? Really wanted to go to Innsbruck but i go to Pitt and they don't offer anything there unless you're an engineering student. Also considering New Zealand, visited there for 2 months a few summers ago and it was awesome but Dunedin is pretty far from any skiing (like 3 hours or so if i remember correctly). So any suggestions are much appreciated.

Innsbruck is a great college type town + Gnarly skiing, cus i assume thats why you're asking NS.

Melbourne Uni. It's a 3 hour drive to the snow but we do day trips all the time.

Also have a ton of French and Spanish countries to choose from, didn't get the chance to copy them over yet though. Obviously the Italian countries can be narrowed down a lot as well. Geneva is kind of appealing though, thoughts?

ya really wanted to do Innsbruck but they don't have anything at my college for that unless you're an engineer. Nothing in norway either. Also thanks to everyone +k for all the replies

Salzburg! I studied abroad there and it's an amazing place. Really friendly people and a good amount of younger college students in the city. You're also on the edge of the Alps so it's fairly easy to get out skiing if you want. Let me know if you want to know more detailed stuff about it.

Oh and whatever you do, don't study abroad in an English speaking country.

I also just noticed the program your school offers in Salzburg (AIFS) is the exact program I enrolled in. They did an amazing job, highly recommend.

Austria seems awesome. My uncle went skiing over there a little while ago and said it was the experience of a lifetime.

I studied abroad in Dunedin about a year ago. It's a blast, you will party so much. Dunedin is just nuts and known for a party uni. They have a party every year that people sometimes travel from Australia to.

Geography wise being located on the southern island is prime for partaking in outdoor activities, especially tramping. There is surfing close by also. Just a warning if you do decided to go, the flats you live in during the winter are fucking cold, like wake up in the morning with frost on the kitchen counters cold.

It is pretty far from Cardies and Treblecone but they have buses that you can take down weekly or buy a van with some buddies. The skiing will NOT compare to Europe in snowfall amounts and terrain.

Bottom line, if you are just looking for skiing in a study abroad experience go to Europe (Austria). If you are looking for some of the most scenic geography in the world and want to do more than just ski go to NZ.

Me and my buddy took a 6000 km road trip (after Uni) around NZ starting from the very bottom and ending up and the most northern point so if you have any questions I'd be more than willing to help.

Lucern may be the most beautiful place i've ever been. Solid option right there, and easy public transportation to skiing. You're like an hour from most skiing though i think

I went to Grenoble, France. I wasn't a huge fan of the city itself, but if you're looking to ski a lot it's definitely worth considering. Ski passes are cheap for students, and there a tons of busses going to all the nearby mountains like Les2Alpes, Alpe d'Huez, Les 7 Laux. You are also within a couple hours of most the other big name French resorts, although they are little harder and more expensive to get to without a car.

Salzburg is close to great skiing. All of the cities in Switzerland, too. You can't go wrong.
