Some skiiers wont make it to sochi

so after reading the freeskiier article about the places in the Olympic team, it has become apperent that many athletes won't make it, based on current standings only wise and geoper have locked in their spots in the team, skiiers like wallisch, brown, ABM etc might not even make the team which would be a massive disappointment due to the fact that they are OG and deserve to be there.

i always under the influence that most national recognised skiiers would make it to sochi, but i'm concerned that wallisch, brown, dumont etc won't make it

The olmypics are going to suck no matter what. Its just going to be another huge comp in which all of the tricks look the same. Dubs then a dub then dub. Boring. Im not taking anything away from the skiers but all of the comp tricks look exactaly the same. I kean look at the x-games last year. There was that rainbow rail and geoper did and hand drag over it, the announcers were calling it creativity. That's not creativity on skis, its a hand drag.

Last I checked ABM was Canadian, so he has 0% chance of being on any Olympic team with Goepper or any other US skier. The selection process is different for the American and Canadian teams. Also, qualifying and being selected to compete in the Olympics are two different things.

The US team is supposed to be announced on Sunday. We will see what happens then.

Also ABM is a good Canadian kid, pretty easy to tell by his name and you wont have to worry about not seeing him there because hes pretty much a lock for the great white north.

Did you all see that Torin is NOT competing in the Grand Prix's at Park City, the last 2 Olympic qualifiers. There is still a chance he could be voted in as a 4th team member via "discretionary vote", assuming he's fully recovered.

Its going to be a very interesting and exciting week ahead

Yes, there is a coaches discretion spot so for example torrin hasnt been doing many contests cause hes injured but by the time the olympics comes around he'll be all good, so they'll take him.

just looked at the format/schedule for this weekends grand prix and it is fucking tight. There is going to be two halfpipe comps and slope comps in one weekend. Crazy.
Question is though, since WIse and Goepper have locked there spots will they still compete this weekend or will they let another teammate try and take the win.

Despite his young age and future Olympics, I really hope Torin competes or gets "chosen" for the team. If he wasn't injured TWICE now, he would easily qualify for pipe. I want to see him and Wise battle it out for Gold!

As much as I'd like to see him, I think picking him would be pretty unfair to the rest of the field. Yeah, he has a great chance of medaling but something doesn't sit right in me handing a spot to someone who has been injured for half the season while others are working hard trying to qualify.
