Summer skiing

Tryna ski some this summer to make up for not skiing a lot this winter. I saved up a little money but not a lot and was wondering how ns lives that summer ski bum life?

a little info about me

I live near sf but I have a cousin that lives outside of portland oregon thats like 2+hrs away from timberline lodge. is it worth paying a $60 day lift ticket and skiing for a couple weeks (To save money I would be driving from her house)? Thoughts?

I rent a room in Wanaka. I always come back with more money then I left with. The cost of living is reasonably high though. Mountain jobs pay more than in the US.

Why not just build a really nice summer setup for like 200-300 dollars then you wont have to bust your balls driving 4+ hours in a day. Some summer setups that ive seen are sooo tight I'm sure you can be creative.

Live at the airstrip. Get a job at Timberline or in Govy. Buy a summer pass. Ski a lot.

This. if you're trying to progress, hitting a summer setup hour for hour will help you more progress more than skiing at hood (unless all you do is hike a rail every single day) even though skiing at hood is 10x more fun than hitting a setup

sadly it is basically summer for me. I am back at college in LA where it is like 80 degrees right now.


I remember reading a thread a while back that said you could hike up to timberline and hit the features without paying for a ticket is that true? ( at least that is what I am remembering.)



I don't really have the space for a summer set up. I live on a hill with a lot of cement and ivy.

I think you will be most likely be better off buying the summer pass than buying 2 weeks worth of daily tickets at T-Line. I don't remember how much the summer pass was this last summer maybe someone else can provide that info. If there is any chance you can make it up for spring break the spring pass is a great deal and that is when the snow and parks are usually the best.

for people who really wanna shred you gotta get a tline job and and shred the gnar and live in govvy or at the airstrip but its a bummy life that can be pretty crazy and the weather can turn on you, what i did was lived in portland and hiked up past mile often and would either lap palmer just a little or shred the pipe or some jumps all hiking

so you didnt have to pay for a lift ticket? and where did you hike from to get to tline ? Sorry for the possibly dumb questions I have been hit in the head quite a few times in my life
