at 1:08 in this video. Just perfection. How do you do this. Does it have to be from a nollie?




Also, how can I practice keeping my skis so parallel, even, and close together in the air like Casabon or especially Delorme? I love that style.

its all tweaked out. his body stays pretty much straight forward and his legs twist super far to the side. While keeping the skis parallel.

but to be completely honest, I've never even heard of a stalefish on skis... could be haha

Ah yeah, did my research and I am definitely asking about a stalefish here. But from what I read, tweaking is essential to/ part of the grab, so there's no "tweaked stalefish"... just "stalefish".

Searched "stalefish", only 1 result. No wonder I've never heard of it in skiing.

Anyways now anyone got any tips for... stalefishing?

So what i said in the first place.

And i havent really done stales, but i think it's kind of a scooping motion with your hand to the two skis. Watch Will Berman edits. He does copious amounts of stales.

Watch 3:18, it's essentially like grabbing tail, just reach to your other ski, right behind the binding and how B-dog talks about pushing your skis together is pretty natural to do if you're not comfortable with reaching that far back, a tip I can give is sucking up your knees and pointing your tips downward a little bit so the grab comes to you. One of my favorite grabs to see. If you want to see more watch the most recent edit of Phil and Henrik, the Early Season Funk one, Henny does a few stales in there.

So fucking awesome. I just wanna start with a straight air stalefish. The real problem I always have is balance. I feel like I would fall on my back.

An easy way to get used to the feeling of stales on a tramp, is to throw your feet up to your right hip, or left, respectively, and grab the heel of your left (or right once again)foot. Just practice this and you'll get used to not going backseat in the air, for this grab your really have to bring it to your center more than others. Practicing blunts can also get you more air awareness for it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HKDgFDviQjc jeff kiesel does some acl tearing stalefish tweak at :50 in this, i like to carve into it like he does i think it makes it easier, just turn your shoulders a bit and really push it with your hand to tweak it

just do a shifty and grab your tails, they are pretty easy, easier then normal blunts/tail imo.

Ye i think if you do a shifty, but point your tips down, the skis are right beside you and so easy to grab. If your having troubling with keeping your skis parallel, focus on keeping your knees together and it's easy.
