Jeeps will be easy to fix, parts are steadily available and cheap.
Foreign vehicles like Nissan, Toyota, and Honda will also be cheap to fix because they are so readily available.
Any German car like Volvo or Audi is going to be a pain in the fucking ass to maintain.
Personally, I really like the Nissan Pathfinder, Honda CRV, Toyota RAV4. I also had a Subaru Outback for my first car.
Obviously you need to do a shit ton of research before purchasing a car.

nada.com are going to be great places to start. Look at customer reviews, see what common problems with the car are, gas mileage, engine size, weight of the car, all of that. Nada will help you determine how much the car is worth depending on what kind of condition it is in.
