Custom Boots?

Just got a new pair of custom boots, I noticed after only a dozen or so days riding on them that they have an imprint on them where the binding grabs the boot at the toe and heel, sort of diveted in on two pieces of the toe and two pieces on both heel tabs where the binding grabs the heel are wearing down and have small divets, is this normal? Don't want to be wrecking my new custom boots

The boots are lange rx100s

this could just be becauss these peices are taller then what the binding is designed for, when u start to realease early thats when u should start worrying

It's pretty normal. The bindings are made of harder plastic than the boots so most boots have small markings at the contact points.

Do you actually know that, or did you just pull that fact from your ass?

I know those boots. You got them from SureFoot. What kind of marks are they? Are your bindings leaving deep indentations/press marks in the plastic or just superficial scratch marks from breaking in new boots?

Also, it could be the bindings. Is there play in your bindings if you wiggle your feet around while your boots are clicked into the bindings? If so, they bindings might not be adjusted correctly. That shouldn't be an issue with 99% of bindings though unless you have something like the Salomon Lord.

The Lord is a ski, I bet you're referring to the wing adjustment on Salomon driver toe pieces. Which probably wouldn't leave more than a surface scuff on a boot anyway.

The binding interface areas of the boot on the toe and heel are normed to be a certain shape and also hardness. This hardness is usually a bit softer than the binding, so it is fairly common to get small indents from the binding on your boot, especially in the heel. It is something that normally you shouldn't worry too much about, unless the boot starts to chip or crack in this area.

I realized my mistake afterwards. I think I was actually thinking of a binding that Marker came out with at SIA this past year that was an alpine binding with adjustable toe height to accommodate for boots with rockered soles.

Yeah they where jester schizos, there's no play in the bindings, I got the forward pressure set at the shop, and they are the boots from surefoot

Prob normal brah. My tecnica cochise 110s have the same thing if I understand what you are explaining correctly. My bindings are pivots 14s

I am currently holding the exact same boot in my hand, also has some scratching from my px 14s. Not an issue

But there is some of the boot that has actually chipped away on the heel plates , about a millimetre or two of material?

It's just as normal as edge wear/cracks from skis grinding on rails.

I have lange boots, same exact thing happens to them. Have not had an issue yet.

This is fairly normal. I would just keep an eye on it. As I said earlier, the boot shell is a softer plastic than the binding, so it is common to see exactly what you have shown.

The chipped areas would be epoxied or fixed otherwise depending on how bad it got. But 9/10, there is a fix.

This is common with sloppy dukes, my afd plates's are shakey and it definitely wore down the toe on my full tilts after 50 or so days of heavy use.
