whatever the intent of this thread was or not, idc, but curling is a solid olympic sport with tradition and everything. freeskiing is almost a joke in that regard and i seriously think that the sport goes downhill from here.
how many "cool" olympic sports are there? yeah i thought so. with all this training schedule, FIS type of development the sport is headed, i seriously think that weve seen the best of this sport.
would you use a mirror? or like a video camera and monitor setup? or would you be like, "go go gadget NECK!" and extend your neck so you could look at yourself banging OP's fat ass mom
I don't give a fuck if skiing is in the olympics, I will keep skiing every season and having a blast in the winter no matter what. Don`t understand your point, is not like you are going to compete right?
yeah for me no problem. but i seriously dont think that all those young kids will be able to enjoy this sport like i have been 11/12 years ago. yes, our equipment was worse, parks were less developed, but it was just all about the fun. now, its "training", like "yo guys, we all gonna do a 360 now".
its obviously generalized, but thats the trend around here. treating the sport exactly like any other competitive sport. try to produce talents as ski clubs, comps, comps, comps, pressure to perform. thats not how i see skiing.
dont get me wrong, a lot of stuff got better, for me personally, no issue, but there are obvious downsides to the whole development of skiing.
id never curl myself, and probably never watch it outside of the olympics, but its pretty fun when it gets competitive and i start to see the strategy. i remember watching it in 2010 and enjoying it.
