K2 Sizing info

so a while back i was looking at skis when the shop i work at was dead,and i noticed the the line 178 is a lot shorter than the k2 179, like A LOT shorter, and a like 185 is only a centimeter taller than the k2 179, also k2 174 is the same height as a volkl 179, can anyone explain this? is k2 huge or are other companies short?

Also lines skis run short. Which doesn't really make sense because k2 owns both of them

K2 skis are in general longer than "fabric" measures. Maybe because they refer to another way to measure the ski. My K2 Domain 169 are actually 173cm.

They measure tip to tip instead of along the base, so they run 3-6cm long depending on the model

My 2012/13 domains in 179 were roughly 183cm-184cm

K2 sizing only measures the base of the ski that contacts the snow. Therefore the skis are longer because it is the base measurement plus the measurement of the tip and tail.
