Best way to fix this?

Epoxy the shit out of it? That's all I got to offer, I don't know a whole lot about ski repair. Epoxy is what I use to repair small chips and scratches on my skis though.

I would think if you flattened the base back out, and then just filled it in with epoxy, that would work. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable jumps in here to offer their opinion too.

This'll be a tough fix because of the edge around thetip. It also looks like a nasty impacted edge abit back.

Id cut the damaged edge out, fuck that thing. Epoxy your skis new pussy shut. Id rivet the tip a few times. Finally a layer of urethane should seal everything up and provide abit of protection.

Next time dont buy skis with edges tip and tail.

i would clip the bent edge off,

flatten the base out,

dump marine epoxy in the damaged area,

clamp it in a vice,

let it sit for 24 hrs,

if it starts to peel apart after a days skiing probably drill a nut and bolt with washers through it so it can't peel further.

SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME

I went to a local shop and they were able to fix them pretty well, basically they just heated the tip and bent/squezzed it back and then epoxyd the shit out of it and they've been holding up pretty good

Are joystic durable? ive heard a lot of good about them but everyone i know broke theirs and i see an awful lot of broken joystick ns threads.. i was thinking of ordering some since theyre so cheap too.

and op def listen to outdoortech or just take them in to a shop if you feel like spending money on fixing em.

get some metal brackets and rivets in there. i put that on the tip of mine, holds it all together. I had to use a weird rivet gun, so you would probably have to find one of those.

The epoxy most likely will no hold. This happened to me last year. since it is at the tip you could probably still ski on it. You could also try sending it back to the factory that is what i did and line sent me a new pair.

Don't really have advice with this type of subject other than clip the edge out and epoxy and clamp it.
Next time around ski shopping, look for skis with piercings (the little bolt like things around the tip and tail of the ski) in them. And i'm assuming your from the east coast. This probably happened to your ski from shitty icy landings and slamming the tails of your skis down to hard.

Dude thats like nothing. I snapped the tail, base sheat is pealed up 3 inches, 1.5 feet of the edge is pealed out, there are holes all in the baselayer, and the bindings are about to go. This all happened in 1 night. You break skis like a pussy

icy landings dont push edges in like that. You'd maybe get a lil delam if you riding total pos skis for years and years.

Op skied into a rail, tree, or something else not made of frozen water. Forget about a warranty too.

The same thing happened to my pun jibs so I brought them to Sport' Page and they were able to fix it no problem.

So I think you should go to your local shop.

I would say not to base durability of that ski on this thread as the damage is clearly impact related. You could take any ski and run into a rail in the exact same way and you would get the same result.

So this happened to my old line invaders a few years ago. I brought it to a tech at mt snow the day it happened, turned out he was a nser who had experienced this problem before. He put a bolt through the ski as shown. It has held up surprisingly well, haven't had any issues with it haha.

^ but if any given ski was edgeless tip and tail, the fix would be way easier and hold up better. The fact that he's or more likely a shop tech will have to tuck the exposed edges himself, in order to not just rip out a bunch more edge. Not an easy thing to do.

i didn't read many responses, but if this went unsaid, now its said. flatten the tip out as best you can, get rid of that fold in the base, JB weld and clap it. drill a hole and put a rivet through it. thatll do. make sure the little bit that sticks up from the rivet is on the top sheet.

This is my first year actually spending all my time in the park, and the only other ski i have used for park were the k2 press. But compared to the press, this ski is fucking awesome but the durability is terrible. But yes i would definitely recommend this ski for the price considering you could get 2 pairs of these for the price of 1 pair of most other new skis

To do this repair take it as 3 steps:

bend the edge back into shape (easily done with a chisel, hammer and brute force).

once the edge is back right. clear any crap out/cut anything that you think will stop the ski glueing together properly. using a stanley knife or similar.

Now this is where being in a workshop helps:
Tape up the top sheet and base etc (anywhere you dont want glue to go)
mix some epoxy up, splooge it around the layers (use anything pokey, I use a grinded down bicycle spoke) and with a heat gun heat up the epoxy so it gets all around the repair.

If possible use a heated plaque and clamp it down as hard as you can with a g clamp on the base of the skis. This will help the base mold back into its original shape. Plug it in for 20-30mins... unplug and leave plaque to go cold. take everything off, clean excess epoxy. Job done.

Only way to do it properly.

If you do not have access to one of the heating plaque (like a heated metal block) then you can bodge job it and just epoxy and clamp but the base will not go smooth again.
