No they aren't. Deuteronomy has zero uses of the word "dinosaur" or "lizard", it has one use of "dragon" which is scattered throughout the Old Testament and New Testament as an allusion to the devil. If you have a specific verse that proves otherwise I'd be interested in seeing it.

MilaKunis was right. It's in Job, not Deuteronomy, my mistake. Read chapters 40 and 41 in Job for reference. It describes a dinosaur but there is no word in Hebrew for dinosaur so that's why you wouldn’t find that term in the Bible.

I don't mean to start an argument or anything I'm just clarifying.

Old testament you're right and the new testament it depends, the concept that most of christianity has of satan develops later on. I'm just unconvinced the text in Job is describing dinosaurs.

Double post but 41 describes the Leviathan, not a dinosaur. Copied from Wikipedia: Leviathan (/lɨˈvaɪ.əθən/; Hebrew: לִוְיָתָן, Modern Livyatan Tiberian Liwyāṯān ; "twisted, coiled") is a sea monster referenced in the Tanakh, or the Old Testament.

The word has become synonymous with any large sea monster or creature. In literature (e.g., Herman Melville's Moby-Dick) it refers to great whales, and in Modern Hebrew, it means simply "whale". It is described extensively in Job 41 and mentioned in Isaiah 27:1.

i think its really a complicated thing when they mention all these reptiles, and most certainly not meant to be representing an evil principle.

they actually have found fossilized pigments. like you could actually see under the microscope some kind of microstructure of the skin.

furthermore, its now pretty much settled that most dinosaurs had feathers, like all over their bodies. they found on well-preserved fossils small "points" which are indicative of "feathered skin".


i think it was actually a combination of the two. they know from currently living birds which colours are caused by which pigment-structure of the feathers.

there was a really great documentary on it and the thing is that 99% of fossils are not "usable" for this kind of analysis since all the details were lost over the years. so its a long and tiring search for good fossils and good spots on those.
