StoseIt's maybe 15 to 20 yards and that's only on the main stage, the smaller stages have smaller gaps, and it's for security, videographers, photographers, VIPs, but mainly just safety


that's still overkill as fuck. There is usually a gap for security, videographers, photographers, and safety. Vips depending on the fest. Even bonnaroo doesn't have anything close to that in gap size.

Glad angelo from fishbone was still cable to get down to the crowd and get people pumped up.

Yeah I agree that gap size is BS. And the safety argument is BS too. The artists aren't gonna get hurt by a bunch of bros and tank wearing teenaged girls...In other venues these bands would play the fans are belly up at the stage. Glad to see lots of bands jumping down to get closer to the crowd. Like Matt from Cage the Elephant, that crowd surfing was nutty hahaha

Well there's almost always a gap at any venue over like 600 capacity other than old school theaters. Shits gets wild at festivals and there are a lot of people so the gaps are usually a little bigger which is fine. 10 feet is fine. Plenty of room for help to pull people over the barrier who are getting crushed get in and find somebody dying in the crowd, get those people out, keep YOLO children from getting on the stage and anything else.


Anything over 15 feet is unreasonable imo. When it get's to like 50 feet? That's nuckin futz.

Yeah it's overkill. I saw grouplove, cudi, arcade fire, lana, flatbrush zombies, strfkr, muse, cage the elephant, and a few others I'm forgetting get into the crowd though so artists definitely don't just stay up there and pretend to be all high and mighty, which I enjoy.

Plus there was Arcade Fire, with there stage right in front of the sound booth (which made me super close when they got there #fangirl), as well as Arcade Fire just going around the area after the concert. Although I think they were in an enclosed perimeter.


Also, who was the other fella with the Winter of Love tee?
