fuck you dude. southernplayalistic is one of the greatest hip hop albums ever. its one of those you can play front to back and its all classics. same goes for aquemini and ATLiens.
and ms jackson is a tight ass song, fuck you especially for that.
i don't care about what it used to be...it was not that good then too. i would rather do ultra or electric forest or paradiso or edc. and that first kid commenting on "rave crap" probably shoves bananas up his ass to mumford and sons saying OMG THIS IS REAL MUSIC
Yeah I agree, when I don't like a certain type of music I automatically assume all songs from that genre are stupid and that those with different taste are below me.
Huh? You don't have to know all or any bands to enjoy a festival. One of the points of a festival is to discover new bands. What I hate is the people who say a lineup socks because they only know 4-5 bands. Well, go discover. It is a festival.
You're telling me you'd throw down like $400 to go just because? Of course discovering is great, but you don't throw down that kind of money because you're friends are going and you just want to be able to say you went too. If there isn't a fair number of artists you already like you probably don't appreciate music enough to make going to a festival worthwhile unless of course it adds to your coolness
I got tickets to mysteryland happening in NY memorial day weekend and I barely listen to electronic music. It's a foreign festival that is going to be insane. It's on the grounds of the original Woodstock festival, multi day camping. I'm local as fuck and don't know any performers. Hell, they didn't even announce the dj's yet, not that anyone I know would recognize any of them.
If you're really worried about other people feeling cool about having fun at a festival, then you're the one to point and laugh at.
You don't understand what in saying, but go ahead and encourage people to go even they don't appreciate music and only want to be able to brag to others that they went. I live in LA so I get to experience how much these spoiled idiots brag about going to Brochella and getting destroyed, but please keep disagreeing with my opinion even though you can't understand it.
I bought my ticket back in June for the presale. Well before anyone had the slightest clue of what the bands were to be.
I totally threw down the money to go because my friends are going. It seems like an amazing experience. So why not do it?
Plus I get to enjoy hot Cali weather in April, which I've never done before.
I understand man. You rather sit on the outside and make fun of the people who are claiming to have a good time. Maybe they aren't claiming, and they really are having a good time? Maybe they appreciate music, just not your taste in music.
Go ahead keep babbling out of your ass. I first hand know people who went, bragged about going before and after, and could not tell you a fucking thing about who they saw aside from maybe one performance. I could care less if someone has more fun than me or has different tastes in music. My problem is people going simply because coachella is "cool" and gives them something to brag about. Last post explaining myself, I tried to get as simple as possible, but maybe I'm still blowing your mind.
ahhh yes, the typical "I hate myself" post so I shall bring down other people who are OK with themselves having a good time. Maybe the people who you think care too much, don't care nearly as much as you do about them.
I guarantee all the people in this thread hating on festivals have never been to one. Some of the best times I've had in life have been at festivals. Don't knock it til you try it.
I would love to spend the money to travel to IL but bethelwoods is 15 mins away and IL is 15 hours. Mysteryland is not about the music, its about the camping at Woodstock and serious partying.
I don't think there was anyone or at least not many people hating on festivals. Not liking 1 or not liking a lineup doesn't mean you hate festivals.
I'm pretty critical of lineups but I don't hate festivals. I base my summer around them. IF I was going to be out there at that time I might go regardless but this lineup isn't going to get me to go. Wanted to go for years. 2011 I was out there but didn't have the funds. Should have just wooked it. Saw a few cars heading there when I was driving up north.
Speaking of festivals, we should take bets on when camp bisco get's shut down.
Beady eye was taken off as well as a few others, late adds were bear hands, Zoe, Courtney Barnett, maybe a few others I'm forgetting. Weekend one will be the shit. I'll be there too
Such a diverse lineup, pretty cool. And to MooseNuts, don't talk about something you clearly know nothing about about. There is not one "rave" artist on there. You said Zedd, which is about as poppy and un-ravelike as it gets. People need to stop arguing about whose music taste is better, and just listen to what you like. There is pretty much enough on this lineup to accommodate most people, there is no need to say one thing is stupid.
What's the deal with the rail being 100 yards from the stage? Almost feel like there'd be no point of waiting to try and get a rail spot only to be miles back from a band.
It's maybe 15 to 20 yards and that's only on the main stage, the smaller stages have smaller gaps, and it's for security, videographers, photographers, VIPs, but mainly just safety
