I'm just going to quote this, but your whole post is off base.
i rarely get heated, or justify myself on here, but nothing you said is in line with my life.
i grew up in rural NJ (yes, it exists) the farthest thing from a ski town. hell, if i walked into a ski town i wouldn't know what it looks like. i WANTED more than anything in life to live this life. i knew i was going to be poor, i knew i was going to live out of a van, but fuck man, I'm stoked on it. I'm am not stuck serving drinks in some bar for rich people on vacation, I'm never stuck anywhere long.
currently, i work for a university in NH, leading rock climbing, backpacking, ice climbing, and ski trips and am 23 years old. go fuck yourself. i love this life, and i can't take any pity on people who are like "growing up sucks mannnnn, get ready to sell your soul" thats not true. you can be happy and do what you love, granted you won't be driving that sweet H3 that your neighbor has (if i had neighbors). i get paid shit, but if i wanted to make more money i would have taken higher paying jobs.
i am grown up, and you sounds like a pretentious snob who shares the cubicle next to whatever square made this thread. i just got back from skiing, how was your day at the office? i could be just making assumptions about you, but hey, apparently thats the trend.
