Best thing you've seen on the mountain from the lift

Over the break i saw one of the greatest collisions I've ever seen. one of those kids who can "only stop by falling" was bombing down the trail under the lift. Now i don't know about other mountains around this time of the year but at SundayRiver we experience the great Asian Invasion. Anyways he dips his shoulder a drops to the ground, tumbles ten yards and crashes into an Asian family on 7 landing each one of them on their ass. after that three of the little girls starting crying and the Asian father whips off his helmet and started yelling at him in some sort of mystery language and the kid just skied off.

now I'm curious what bullshit NS has seen from the lift

A fat lady with kid on a leash. Lady picked up speed and got in front of kid. Leash cord ran out and the momentum generated by fat ladies acceleration whipped kid around in front of her like a merry go round on crack and right as the kid got in front fat lady caught and belly flopped on child.

Lots of other stuff as well but that's the first thing that came to mind.

Teenage girl flying down the hill, totally out of control. Went over a small roller and pretty much exploded. Both skis and boots came off. Watching her walk back up the hill and collect her things in her socks was hilarious, but I felt pretty bad for her.

Some older woman laying on her back while her skis were going forward down the hill. She was screaming her head off going maybe 4mph while who I assume was her husband was slowly skiing behind her waiting for her to stop. The funny thing about it was a group of 5 ski patrols were up the hill laughing at her. I shot them a thumbs up.

someone sent their ski down the inrun for the biggest jump at my hill and it actually cleared! also it landed perfectly. it proceeded down the hill at mach 3 then into the parking lot where it triggered a car alarm.

6 or 7 gapers skiing in a train. The first one found about a foot of heavy pow (it was late season) and face planted. Everyone else ran into everyone in front of them and then there was just a giant pile of gapers gaping all over the place.

the lift goes above a black diamond, and this gaper snowboarder was trying it, he hit a roller and landed so weird his board ripped off his bindings, and he went barreling down the mountain at fucking 60mph.
Couldnt see him after a little, he crashed into a net at the bottom from what i heard.

not funny, but riding the lift in Jackson a guy comes flying out of the woods and drops a 30 footer into the bumps on piste. rode it out like a boss. everyone on the lift was pretty mesmerized.

Gaper yells to his friends that he's gonna go ski "some of that sweet powder" on like a 6" day. Drops in in an aggressive racing stance on his racing skis and goes tips down over the handlebars.

Muffled sobs were heard as I passed above him.

one the lift with my snowboarder friend just having fun taking afternoon laps in the mini park. the lift for the mini park is also the beginner lift. so about half way up we see this fat lady (for sure a solid 7) and she was trying to walk down the hill with her boots still on her skis. so here you have this lady picking up speed in her socks, falls flat on her ass and losses both skis. both skis go about 20 feet down hill and manage to plow into a snowboarder and she shit whips straight to her face

I saw a little kid who somehow lost his snowboard.. While he was walking down the hill my friend and I were flipping the sit out because his snowboard hit box perfectly on the way down

was in line to get on the lift, this homie comes in a bit too hot around the corner around the ropes, somehow digs his tips in and eats shit so hard. tried really hard to keep my cool along with an employee. shit was hilarious.

On schoolmarm at Keystone I watched a gaper go full speed, fall, then proceed to plow into 4 people all talking to a group of 3 slow patrol. Right in front of a SLOW THE FUCK DOWN sign. all 4 people fell down and one of them didn't get up for 5 minutes haha.

There's "drop" through the trees connecting one run to another that's lower. Probably 60 feet down, semi-steep, but ends with a short but drastic incline, like coming out of a ditch. Four gapers are standing at the top, first goes down and literally explodes out of the ditch, equipment everywhere. Does this deter his three friends? No, que each of them exploding out of the ditch. It was a yard sale for the ages, equipment everywhere.

Another time was a girl who fell backwards, yet couldn't stop. So here she is, bombing it down the run while laying on her back, screaming the whole way. Some poor bastard tried to speed up to help her but even he couldn't catch up.

I can't wait to see what other crazy shit people have seen but I remember when I was on the lift a ski instructor was yelling at a girl who had just fallen that she wasn't as good as her sister while the girl who had just fallen was sliding down the mountain. Ski instructor really needs a new job that doesn't involve children

At hood, Ahmet dadali was skiing under the lift like a thug and he just double ejected and flew out of both his skis and complete yard sale. It was hilarious. Also, I was on the lift and a snow board with the boots still in the bindings went flying down the hill with some chick in socks running down the hill after it.

Also saw a guy hit like a 40 foot cliff once when skiing in the Alps

And, dunno if this counts, but I was skiing on a Friday last year and got on the lift behind this old couple, and they lit up a joint and smoked it together. Most adorable thing I've ever seen.

saw a big pvc pipe at the top of the park release as it was melting out of the snow and go speeding down the hill. 2-300 pounds of shattered legs if it hit anyone, but luckily it didn't.

also wasn't from the lift but saw some guy hit a grouse that was on the run.

visiting breck this past week a gaper aired a small kicker and knuckled it to double ejection to face slide. I lost it and got looks from the gaper clan in trail mourning the demise of their leader

I watched a random guy on rentals just go flying into the moguls at wachusett going mach 10

dude was somehow ok, but his shit literally went fucking everywhere and his rental bindings exploded. He was still picking up stuff when we skied down.

Once I was skiing at one of the local hills (the grand geneva) and there was this little girl on the ground and as we went over her in the chairlift we saw her dad ski over next to her. she started crying saying "daddy I don't want to ski anymore!" Her dad then proceeded to throw both his poles on the ground with some force, pick up his crying daughter, and screamed into her face "SKI DAMMIT!" I don't remember what happened after that on account that I was dying of laughter, almost falling off the lift.

Some boarders ahead of me were throwing snowballs at people under the chair and one pegged some fat lady and she fell back and continued to move down the hill picking up speed and wasnt able to stop until she went right into some kid. Pretty priceless.

i shit you not, i have seen a patroller chasing a snowmobile down my shitty central ny hill one time from the chair. it was on a trail with hardly anybody on it but damn i laughed my ass off haha

I was riding a lift at horseshoe when out of nowhere I see this mouse start to run across the run below me. This lady on the run then screams at the top of her lungs "ahhhhhh a mouse!!!" And then started flailing around and swinging he ski pole like a golf club trying to hot the mouse, but then in her madness, she took a huge swing an hit her sister, who was following quite closely. They then proceeded to engage in a loud yelling match/argument, as I nearly died of laughter from the lift

I almost got annihilated by some girl who fell like that once. She went right by me going like mach 230912743, hit a bump and exploded, skis and whatever flew everywhere. I actually would have been hurt if she hit me, I bet.

Last time I went, I saw a snowboarder bomb this decently steep run. He had to turn at the bottom, and he was in it pretty good. But then he hooked an edge or something on his heelside and high sided, then rolled a few times until he stopped. It was a pretty dramatic fall, but he was fine.

Also, if anybody saw my post about the asian family in line in front of me. Later, the asian kid was on the ground, he's a snowboarder. And his dad is yelling at him to GO BACKWARDS in his heavy chinese accent. That was the running joke for the rest of the day.

I saw a girl on a snowboard go for i think it was a frontside 180 over a tire bonk, completely caught her heels, did a backflip and screamed and somehow landed on her feet

this one time me and 5 or 6 friends were totally shredding. and i found a sick pow stache. it was like waist deep, but i wasnt on my good skis and i fell and all my friends fell on me. but it was alright cuz i totally got a faceshot when i fell forwards.

Many moons ago a buddy and me were heading up Mountain Top Express lift in Vail. It climbs up a run called Zot and there is a cliff drop in, but you can drop down it a little. A newbie/adrenaline junkie/clueless gape - you pick - sideslips down it a little, but not nearly enough for what he's about to do. The run goes into a fairly deep U and then comes up and basically forms a natural kicker. This guy hit it balls to the wall and hit it sort of backseat, but generally held it together. He never once thought to speed check if he even knew how.

His immediate problem was he was about 25 - 30 feet off the ground. He flew to the left of our left chair and I could have rapped him on the back of the head with my pole. I caught the look in his eyes and it was one of a man knowing he was to meet his maker. He got some good amplitude and was definitely flying toward the Big Air Dave zone and a full-on explosion...luckily for him there was a massive (maybe 75-90 foot) evergreen in his path (note he had flown a good 250% past where anybody else would even think about sending that jump). He caught it about the halfway mark up and managed to snag a few branches to slow his momentum. It appeared like he tried to grab on, but whiffed and immediately fell the distance to the ground pretty much to his back, but being it was an evergreen there was some soft snow around the base to dampen the fall. There were a lot of "oh shits" and "holy Gods" coming off the lift chairs, but the guy seemed to have survived. He appeared to be moving and my assumption was things pretty much worked out for him that day.

Not really funny but .. While on the lift over the beginner park I saw this girl, she looked like she was maybe 12, went off a medium jump and threw a right side 7 then went on to the next jump and threw a left side 7. And she wasn't Kelly sildaru

hunter mountain a few years ago i see this guy eat shit at the top of one of the steeper mogul runs and double eject. both his skis proceed to fly down the entire trail and come to a stop a couple hundred yards away from the poor bastard. when he finally stood up and realized the situation he was in i can't even begin to describe how utterly defeated he looked. i thought he was about to cry

Saw someone bombing a steep run and came in for his last cliff and punch fronted down the hill to fully take out some gomer standing down hill of the cliff. It was so funny because the gomer was not upset at all but he was super stoked he got the whole shot on his GoPro

I was riding a chair watching a teenage kid ripping down a wide open blue run, he cut in between two trees, he didnt see the drop and flew about 40 feet to flat, he double ejected and smashed face first, knocking off his helmet

I was at a small mountain (Crotched) and we kept seeing this kid in a baby blue suit (this was about 2006 so that shit was totally in). Us and this mystery smurf were lapping the same lift, so every ride we saw this kid and would all yell "AYYYE BABY BLUE!!!" One lap, he was going along at quiet a clip and totally fucking cased it, tumbled a good way and ejected. Obviously, we shouted some shit at Baby Blue and laughed out asses off. Next lift up we see about 4 patrollers packing someone into a sled and lo and behold it was fucking Baby Blue.

Also, my friend told me that he was at Sugarloaf and the guy a head of him took his helmet off and put it on the chair, only to have it slip off and beam some poor son of a bitch in the head down below. If that's not some irony, I don't know what is

these are great. i feel like from now on we should all film the whole chairlift ride up just incase you stumble across some gaper gold along the way, and if not just delete the most recent vid at the top. that way threads like this could become videos

At the start of the lift my friends and I see this snowboard just come rocketing down the hill, nearly hitting a couple people and carrying on past the base of the chair.  About five minutes into the ride we spot the guy who somehow lost it, running for dear life trying to catch the board that was a good 2-3kms downhill.
