When I was in 4th grade I was 50/50ing a flat box and an older kid taught me and my friend how to do spins on it. Ever since then ive loved it. Now that I'm kind of in the more experienced position I try to help kids when I can see they're new to free skiing even on simple shit just cause itd feels good to know i might be the reason they love the same sport i fell in love with.
When I was 6 or 7 I went to the local ski hill to go tubing with my family and the tubing was closes so we rented skis and I loved it. I couldn't go that much because I was in competitive hockey. A couple years later the hickey season ended early so I was able to go 4 or 5 time I the spring. I saw some skiiers hitting the park and thought it was awesome and the next year I quit competitive hockey and my parents got me a pair of twin tips for Christmas and the rest is history.
I was on the Race team but my grades were never good enough to race so I always got lift tickets and just went into the park when others were racing.............
Traveling Circus. It showed me, that skiing doesn't have to be competitive and it's not about doing the sickest tricks. At that time when I didn't know much about skiing I remember watching some Tom Wallisch and Xgames and dew tour stuff. That only showed me the competitive side of this sport. Then my friend showed me an episode of Traveling Circus and I loved it. The freedom of doing your own thing and just having fun on the hill got me hooked.
i started late, only been skiing for 3 years and really last year is when i first saw the whole freeskiing scene. Mainly got into it from my friend showing me a vid of his first backy and showing me LTC clips whenever we hung out
Started skiing in grade 7. Buddies and I would try to hit jumps, but our skis always blew up (lol what's DIN?). Skied once in a while over the years, started again last season and thought I'd give park skiing a try.
The B&E show, I remember watching the episodes and thinking that it looked like they were having so much fun doing whatever they really could imagine, so I looked up other edits and was hooked.
When I was 10 and skiing park with atomic race skis I felt pretty gay and wanted to snowboard. Then a crew of some thug park skiers came and did some sick shit which inspired me to start skiing park
i started skiing when i was reeal young, and i was pretty good, but i wasnt super into it. a couple of my friends showed me some videos, and were always getting me super stoked to ski. and poof. now i spend most of my freetime on newschoolers or skiing
My dad tought me how to ski when i was about 9. But i sucked, and my friends would go off jumps and i was too afraid. Then i stopped hanging out with them for a few years, got good at skiing, then showed them up and it felt really good. So i kept working at the park stuff
