I don't like that the Faction Candide 3.0 doesn't have any tip taper. It's got loads of rocker but pow slaying is sooo much better with a bit of taper, way easier to initiate a turn in the goods. And I'm not a Nordica fan either. Even tough I'm getting product from someone else, ON3P delivers the best line if skis. And that is what matters.
it was only a matter of time before nordica lost traction here. they havent put out any videos worth watching lately and faction comes out swinging. dont get me wrong, big nordica fan since they are east coast and stack an east coast team, but faction is going to blow up this year because of Candide and now Delorme. Shops that pick up the skis delorme and candide ride will do well.
Why does it have to be a competition? They both realized their marketing was shit, so they changed the plans. Now all the dumb kids think nordica and faction are sweet. Sounds like a business win for both of them.
Evan, you didnt quote my next sentence "dont get me wrong, big nordica fan since they are east coast and stack an east coast team"
looking forward to your next edit! With SIA in 2 weeks, now is the time to push for market share on NS! Are we finally going to see the OMW in something longer than 177?!?! i hope a 182 is in my future.
Who cares who takes who or who's going to be better this year. They're just two totally different companies who have a different vision and demographic. BOTH companies marketing strategies are obviously working because that's all you guys think about now on here.
i think that the whole "competition" concept spawns from the idea of trying to sell a similar product to the same demographic. i might be wrong tho, its been a while since i hit the dictionary.
He's great but not on that level. those guys do things that are mind blowing. Tim does stuff that's really sick but being an animal isn't enough when you're up against those guys!
Loads of teams have heavy hitters, but I'd say Nordica, Faction, Atomic and Armada are the leaders in terms of the craziest/most influential teams of all time.
Also, you think duncan adamns and vanular, two guys who have been out of the top-tier ski scene for some time now are on a higher level than McChesney?
The ignorance in this thread and all of newschoolers recently is going to make me crazy.
thread isnt really about the skis and how they handle. you want that, head to gear talk. This is about perception on NS and team strength. I commented that it was only a matter of time nordica lost traction and it gets down voted as well. My perspective is that faction is a trending topic more than nordica right now, and its because they just made an edit and added some major players to their team. Does nordica still have a great team, of course. It's all marketing and Evan is right, its only January and Nordica having their team mostly in the east coast means we really haven't had the time for parks to be fully set up out here to be worthy of showcasing edits. The Weak has become somewhat a joke to me and while its fun to watch, it doesnt have much substance. Take the last one, do i really want to watch them eat pizza and play hockey? hell no, i want to see an edit like faction just put out on obstacles and jumps i hit in VT!
Faction's edit was rad. It made me go to their website to see if there was anything that would interest me (only looked at their skis) unfortunately I didn't see anything that interested me. But their marketing is on point.
