I got in a car wreck that broke my back and nearly caused the end of my skiing. After 2 years, i'm back on the snow but I am deathly afraid of jumps, not like i used to be. Just wondering if anyone on here has had any similar experiences and can share how long it took them to get comfortable with jumps again, if at all.
On a side note though, it feels great to be skiing again.
I used to be really afraid of jumps but I was stupid and would just hit a big jump with getting speed test or anything and would over shoot the landing by a good 10ft everytime. I finally just started going off the smallest ones I could find get comfortable with those then move up to bigger ones. It took awhile to finally be comfortable with all the jumps in the park but it helped me do it in the least stressful way. Really it's just about getting comfortable being in the air no matter how high off the ground you are. Hope this helps.

Never been in your situation exactly, but you should take it easy. Go from lil natural side jumps, and then progress to bigger ones when you feel comfortable.
There is no time limit for that kind of stuff, it's different for everyone. Just don't push it.
Take it slow if you need to. Start small and get progressively bigger. The worst thing you could do is try to hit something you are not ready for and reinjure yourself by trying something too soon. Best of luck and glad you are back on snow.
Had a bad crash that put me out for about 8 years, coming back was tough. Was super sketched out by even little jumps. Took some kids at the hill being all "just do it you pussy!" to get me going again.
Just ease your way back into it. Start off hitting side booters, move up to small jumps and work your way from there. Rebuild your air awareness and confidence.
