at 2:01 Wallish is not using his pro model boot. Could this be the olyimpic boot or what. embedded would be greatly appreciated https://www.newschoolers.com/watch/682283.0/I-Ride-Park-City-Ski-2014-Episode-2?c=11&t=6&o=8
I know that they athletes aren't allowed to use branded stuff that isnt an official olympic sponsor, so he's prolly just tryna break in some new boots for Sochi
This is fairly earlier than years before...but it makes total sense. You're highest profile slopestyle athlete is mere weeks away from being a major focus on world-wide television, do you want him on the current years boots or the brand spanking new ones the public will all see in stores in the fall (the busiest time of the year for ski retailers)...simple, elegant, strategic marketing, that's all it is.
As far as the logo thing with the olympics, they just have to be under a certain size and not prominent (i.e. no stickers on skis/helmets). But you can always see the brand of ski or goggles or boots an athlete is using. For example, the world knows that Bode rides Head skis because their logo is right next to his face after a run.
To be honest it's pretty late in the season really. All the big brands will be working in kit for the 15/16 season by now. Next years kit has been signed off for a while. You can't be at this stage in the season and not have next seasons kit done. Buyers need to get out on it and see what they want to stock ect. So I would have thought he has had them for a while he just did not fancy showing them off.
I mean sia is in 3 weeks so brands will already have their full line for next year ready and ready to show to retailers. They are definitely working in on 15/16 lines at this point
