why do people only say fks, you realise pivots are the exact same thing, even look makes fks for rossi. get pivots unless you want to look like a squid with bright orange bindings
salomon STH2 16 is the best binding you can get..unless you like getting your heel peice rammed up your ass in a fall, than get the rossi or look binding.
actually i do. those bindings are all good, but sth2's are better, but for some reason kids think the bright orange and green ones look cooler so they get those. suck a D
No, wow you're an idiot. It's a matter of retention v. release first of all. STH2's are shit, take notice of all the heavy hitting pro's not using them. suck a D
sorry i dont have time to compile a list of all the pros that use salomon bindings (or atomic which are just branded sth2's) for you but rest assured its almost half the pros. you seem to really be against salomon bindings though, so why dont you list eveery pro skier you can think of and then list his binding of choice.
Most of those athletes that ride Salomon and Atomic bindings are paid to do so. If you are going to see which binding pros ride that are not sponsored by that company, it would probably be FKS/Pivots. However, the STH and the FKS are both the best bindings on the market, so you really can't go wrong.
Tyrolia Peak/Head Mojo/4Frnt Deadbolt 15/18 are all probably the most underrated (and forgotten in the ongoing FKS/Pivot/STH debate) bindings out there. Burly construction, consistent and reliable retention/release and can usually be found for pretty cheap.
Haven't heard anything about this years redesign (I think is just a new toe piece) though.
i don't know much about the sth2s given they updated the entire binding for touring focus, but my STH 16s from 2012 are pretty fantastic. I skied on them for about two weeks in varying conditions and they never pre-released and felt super solid. They are almost entirely metal but not too heavy (compared with looks). I personally like super solid binidngs and the 'thump' these make when you step into them pretty much says it all about how burly they are. I ride mine at 11-12 DIN and I'm 5'8" 168 pounds.
