true flat 5 (sammy c style) vs true rodeo 5 (super inverted) are two completely different rotations so I do believe that OP could be learning rodeo 5 after knowing flat 5.
As far as new tricks- back surface swap, landed my first 7 on one ski yesterday, and front 450s out of rails that should not be 450able.
OP knowing how to flat 5 but not how to rodeo 5 can be a legit problem. I can flat 5 but not flat 3. New tricks uhmm nosebutter 2 on (hard as fuck to get it right, succes rate like 1 in 10), unnat blind surfs, unnat 2on, unnat lipslides, .. , ok I'll stop the claiming lol
I haven't done a rodeo on skis, but my best advice would be throw less of a flip and throw more of a spin. It should come around easier, my first attempt at a flip would have been a perfect flat 5, then i tried to get the flip around quicker by throwing more inverted and ended up doing a fucked up flatspin 270 while getting the flip around.
everyone tries to throw rodeos the same as flat 3 with a twist at the end, they are sooo different. For a rodeo, as you are throwing like a flat, you have to turn your hips and shoulders sideways, as your throwing off the lip, this will start the spinning rotation earlier and make sure you get around.
This kid knows what's up, first one is a flat 5, second is a rodeo. It's hard to see but first one isn't really too inverted while the second one is straight up inverted. There is a difference.
