I recently got some cleats for a pair of older Look Delta pedals and am having some issues with them. When I was setting them up I left the little rubber oval out so I could set the placement memory thing when I found where I wanted to set them.
^I left those things out^
When I found the placement I wanted, I tightened the small screw on the memory thing, and removed the cleats. I inserted the rubber oval and re-attached the cleats. I went to clip in and now it is very difficult to clip in, I have to kind of claw my feet at the pedals very hard and when they do clip in it isn't a real solid *click*, it is more of a squeezing of rubber feeling. When I didn't have the rubber oval in they clipped in and out fine.
The ovals are kind of worn down a bit after trying to clip in and out multiple times. They have long radial scratches across them where they come into contact with the pedals. There are burrs of plastic on the sides of the ovals.
In the installation manual of the cleats it says that the rubber ovals are key to safe usage. Is this absolutely true or are they more to protect the memory thing from dust and debris.
I hope that makes sense, but trying to word that was difficult and I cant find my camera battery charger so I can take pictures.
I know there is at least one other NSer with Delta pedals , but I can't remember who it is. PLEASE HELP!
