My best friend and girlfriend passed away this morning...

the person dearest to my heart passed away this morning in a car accident. not 24 hours ago you were laughing and so full of life. there was so much good in you. you were the strongest person i ever met and i will always love you. rip my love.

im sure others have gone through tragedy like this, what helped the most for you?

Not gonna say "vibes" because fuck that. I've never lost a dear friend (luckily) but I have lost people I was acquaintances with and that was bad enough. I'm sorry for your loss man, keep your head up.

Damn thats tough man. Wouldn't wish that on anyone. The way the world works is crazy and probably the best thing you can do is not blame yourself, been down that road, not good. So sorry for your loss. You'll pull through man, life goes on. She wouldn't want you to change, keep your head up

When I was in 8th grade my best friend died of leukemia. What I did was not be sad but just remember how great that person was in your life. Keep one aspect of them and look at it once everyday to remember who they were to you but you have to move on. Be a better person for them and never forget them but don't ever let it ruin your life.

Holy fuck dude, that's awful to hear. I can't even imagine what that must have be like for you to get the news about (aren't you currently in another country away from them?). My thoughts go out to you and their families. Remember them for the awesome people they must have been and all the positive they brought to your life.

I've never lost someone that close to me apart from grandparents. I can't imagine how you're feeling right now, but the only thing you can do is live your life. Don't let it run you, don't feel sorry for yourself.

I know what i'm saying sounds horrible, but if you let it get you down too much it'll take away from the good memories. Remember the good times, and keep on keepin' on man.

A couple of years ago I lost one of my best friends. It's rough, and I can't imagine losing my girlfriend. My friend and I met through rollerblading and that's what we spent most of our time doing. If there's anything you and your girlfriend used to do a lot, take a quick break from it, then go back to as much as you can. Vibes doesn't feel right here, as if it's not enough.

Hey bakerpow, my condolences. I lost a very close friend in a motorcycle accident last summer. The pain and shock are hard to ease, but there are some things you can do to help. Get together with the other people that loved her, you should be there for each other. Tell stories about her, laugh cry, just be open with each other. Sharing stories and comforting each other helped my friends and i a lot.

My late friends girlfriend who was in your position took time off school to memorialize him. She went abroad to a developing country and helped build a school tthere. They put a plaque with his name on it. When she came back she seemed a lot better. Maybe try something like that.

I am sorry this happened to you but you can and will get through it.

let me tell you, there is nothing that will make you feel better. There isn't a cure, there isn't something that makes it alright when someone who means so much leaves so fast.

For me the only thing that helped was time, and even that leaves a lot to be desired. If you want to talk, I've had to deal with losing people close to me without warning, and sometimes the best thing is someone to talk to.

Or not even me, but talk to people as much as you can, try not to become a hermit, try to keep positive, and try to keep life going. It won't be easy.

i lost my brother over 7 years ago in a car accident. he passed away with his gf as well. it's been a long process, and quite complex, but you just survive. everyone's coping skills are different, and everything is situational. i have a lot of trouble talking about it, and there are things i cannot get out of my head. the more time passes the harder i find it is to deal with it and i often didn't understand why i just couldn't face it initially. i miss the opportunities we could have had now as adults, though i now take comfort in the things he loved, like books, music, hobbies, what have you...

the funeral helped, and the surmounting support we got through it helped too. i had a very hard time with my mom for a very long time, she shut down for about 5 years. so it goes without saying her mom, dad and siblings could use a lot of love right now. you included no doubt.

i cannot imagine your situation. i admit the idea has crossed my mind many times since the accident. i kind of fear losing everyone. and i almost lost my dad recently, and lost someone else very close to me. as time passes i find the situations become much more difficult and i can't really express why. every now and then it just hurts a little extra, and i just miss him.

in the end if you ever need help, don't hesitate. if you need to consult a counselor, or just have memorials with your friends, or just alone. you'll find what suits you, but just don't let the grief drag you under. i don't know how to say this, but basically don't ask the questions that have no answers - they have no answers.

i'm very sorry for your loss. stay strong. x
