Line skis?

Ive heard alot of mixed opinions on them. Some people say they hold up great, some people say they suck. Im looking for some really durable park skis that can hold up to rails.

The afterbangs seem good, or at least what ive heard.

What do you guys think?

I ski the Line Blend's and Sick Day 110's. They are both super fun. For a park ski, the blends are really poppy but stiff enough for solid landings. Durable too. Can't go wrong with Line. There is a reason they've grown so fast.

Look for some chronics for cheap (previous years or used). They are a way better ski than the a bang, and you can generally get them for a deal.

I have the afterbangs and i LOVE them. They are supper poppy and durable. They ride rails so nice and just lock on. They do get a little heavy because of the solid wood ski. The butterzone lets you add so much style to your features. I also have the 2004 Eric Pollard Pros, another awesome ski. You obliviously won't be getting skis that old but I absolutely love line skis. I've demoed cronics and traveling circus and they are both amazing skis. Go with Line! Hope this helps.

The Future Spin is kind of the step up from the Afterbangs, which are meh. This year they were semi-re-designed and got much better. I had a pair of 2(?) year old afterbangs. They held up great, I slammed them into concrete, rails, ice, dropped them off of roof's, ski lifts, and walked across my hill's dirt parking lot with them. Durable as fuck.

I also have this years Chronics. From what I've skied so far, they are awesome as well. Pretty playful but kind of stiff I suppose. They rip all mountain and the rocker has been great on the last few storms. There are a few other skis that I may have chosen, but overall am really happy.

That being said, like I mentioned earlier the Future Spin seems to be a re-designed newer Step-Up. Mostly park oriented, can take it pretty deep, pretty stiff, a good rail/jump ski, 'meh' all mountain though. The Travelling Circus is your other option for a middle ground ski, which is very soft, 'playful' and 'buttery'. That being said I don't really like them. They are like soft, floppy, flimsy spaghetti noodles. Compared to the Blends, Chronics, and Future Spins.

The Future Spin is almost identical to the 08-10 chronic but with the half cap. They are not stiff at all, which I was really surprised at for being a "competition" ski.

They seemed kind of stiff to me, but I'm a little bitch so that can go a long way. But that is interesting, it's the ski that I expected to see LJ riding in comps.

I liked the two pairs of line skis I owned. Both have had no problems with durability and were pretty good skis (Invader and OG chronic). Didn't like the extruded base on the Invaders which brings me to:

I can't say I'm a fan of their price point skis. Obviously they're cheap but you really are better off spending a little more for a high quality ski. You sacrifice a sidewall and fast base when you opt for skis like the Traveling Circus, Mastermind, and Afterbang.

I have had Prophets, Anthems and Sir Francis Bacons. I have been beating on the Anthems for three seasons now. I am not a phenomenal park skier but I do put quite a few days on them a season. They have gotten extremely soft, but still hold up great on all the features I am hitting. Lots of top sheet chipping but the bases are holding up well. I absolutely love the SFB, they preform great all over the mountain and I cut through the park occasionally on them and it is fun. They defiantly excel in a little bit deeper snow, but will tackle everything.

Debating on buying either the Sick Day 110 or Mr. Pollard's Opus in the next couple weeks here. If anyone has any advice on those I would appreciate it. I will be mounting Marker Barons them.

Opus for sure. My brother demoed them and he loved them. Shredded them at Jay Peak, so a lot more snow than I'm used to here in Maine but he couldn't shut up about them.

When I first contacted them it took 3 weeks for them to give me email adress. Now it has been another 3 weeks since I emailed and haven't gotten reply. And even if I sucked I don't think park skis should break that easily.

My 2 cents is this:

For a lighter skier, Line make some of the funnest skis around. I've ridden mostly Line skis over the time I've skied park, some free through various local flow/shop rider deals and some paid for (Invaders, Anthems, Elizabeths, EP Pros, Chronics, Blends, Line Sir Francis Bacons). I've also had other brands, I'll ride what I get cheapest but Line are generally my favorite skis.

That said, sometimes the skis are too soft even for me. For example the Blend (since they've changed the core) I found too soft in the tips and tails. At 135 pounds I would wash right through them on some butter tricks/bad landings. I also would say that while I prefer the feel of the skis to say that of armadas or atomics, I dont think the consistency of build quality is as good. When I was picking out my latest skis (SFBs) I went through the shop's whole stock to find the pair with the least obvious (minor) defects.

I am a big Line fan, I think they make the most fun skis to ride, but I'm not blind to the fact that some other skis out there are better built.
