In a lapse of thought and the idea that i could shovel faster than I could. I tried to move too much snow in too cold of weather with no gloves on. my thumb and my pinky have hurt since coming inside from doing so. it's like, a constant throbbing in both fingers coupled with this feeling that my nails are causing pressure as well as a slight numbness on the outside. they aren't swollen but slightly more red than my other fingers.
You probably just jammed them or something. I id the same thing, jammed my thumb while I was shoveling, just slammed it into something the wrong way. Felt that throbbing sensation and it swelled and got pretty red. The cold just makes even the smallest bumps and bruises hurt a lot more.
