Replying to Random: does "jump quality adaptability" make a good skier?
My main hill has jank-ass jumps. WAY too steep takeoffs. Among other problems.
Went somewhere else today, and actually stopped to tell a park crew guy how great the jumps were shaped.
I wasn't the only one with the opinion. Plus there were far less people knuckling them, and they were actually bigger than the other hill's.
ANYWAYS, felt much more comfortable hitting these Which got me thinking:
1) Can pros adapt to any jump? Obviously more so than the average skier... But we see perfect jumps in edits and movies, but I wonder if they can throw down just as easy on shittily built jumps... Like, does Bobby Brown NEED his gorgeously shaped red bull jumps?
2) Any "good" skier should be able to adapt/ conquer a wide variety of conditions. But do you guys think adapting to shitty jumps is a must-have for a "good" skier? Or is it acceptable to blame failure on the jumps?
