New to Skiing

I've only skied once but it was a lot of fun and I want to get into park, groomers, back-country, basically all-mountain stuff. I've been a snowboarder for a long time and know a lot about that, but not much about skiing.
I'm 6' 0" 160lbs, I ride in the Cascades (Rainer, Snoqualmie, Mt. Hood, and Bachelor/Whistler when I'm lucky).
I've been checking CL for skis and boots and I've been reading on here and other websites that I should really go see a boot fitter for boots, but I have a question about a pair of skis.

Salomon Crossmax 10 with Pilot bindings, 185cm.
Would these be a good fit and size for me as a beginner/quick-learner?

They are long for you and you will get bored with them once you get good. For first learning get a ski with 175 to 181 length with twin tips.

Holy shit... A newb who actually read through the forums about bootfitting!!!! I think you might be the greatest person ever! As for skis, get something in the mid 170s, look at the armada el Rey as a ski to learn on, super easy to ski with a ton of sidecut. After you get the whole carving thing down then look to branch out into fat skis for pow.

ive got an old pair of dynastar trouble makers that are in darn good shape. for your all mountain they are 182, maybe big but you can desstroy the crap out of them for learning to be a good rider. bindings on em too boss.

Ride907ak, how much are you asking for the dynastar trouble makers? I was hoping I could go cheap on the skis and spend my money on the boots.

Hit me up if your ever riding bachy or meadows and shred together and help with any pointers I can. Another good ski is like the line invader real soft and playful and can take a beating and can find em decent cost.
