After wondering on the lift the other day "who the hell would steal someone's shit form a rack?", I decided to ask.

I found a $20 on the ground walking into the lodge one day, I was pumped! Looked around to see if anyone was gonna claim it / if anyone looked like they were looking like they dropped it, didn't see anyone so I bought lunch with it.

I have only skied once without paying. Honestly did not feel great about getting away with it, especially now that I work at a ski area.

This happened about 10 years ago, so I can't comment on the types of people around anymore. But yeah, always sketchy folks near the beer chalet.

After reading all this... I am not looking forward to finding my Jskis stolen. For the love of god I'm the only one within a 500km radius north of the border that owns the model.

Gonna go out and buy two locks for those bad boys.

I mean what else can you do in a situation like that take it to the lost and found? I think finding cash is an exception unless its someones wallet.

Things don't really get stolen at the resort I go to because:

1. Everybody knows everybody else, so it would have to be someone from somewhere else.

2. No one likes a thief.

3. The majority of people here are pretty nice and not sketchy

I witnessed a crazy beatdown a couple years ago at Jiminy Peak. Near the end of the day two kids got caught trying to jack a couple boards from the racks. I guess out of pure luck the owners of the boards see them and follow them to the parking lot with 5 other guys, one comes up behind one of them with his belt, strait up chokes the kid out with it while the others just start wailing on both of them.

Staff came and broke it up pretty quick but the kid who got strangled was half dead by the time they wrestled the guy with the belt away from him. The other kids nose was totally shattered, blood everywhere.

It just goes to show that if you're gonna steal shit, you better be ready for the biggest ass kicking of your life. Ill bet you anything those two kids never even touched a snowboard ever again.

This is exactly the lesson I will teach if I see someone walking away with my planks, It's either ski boot to the shin, just above the boot, or helmet across the face from then.

Sometimes I hang in my local mountains cafe and just keep on filling up and drinking my drink from the fountain machine then just leave. You could say I live the thug life.

At PCMR last wee I was in a shop and looking at the helmets. I picked one off and a large sticker fell off the tag. I decided it would be better to swipe it than leave it on top of the helm so that someone would pick it up and the sticker would slide off. Its now in my bag

Got just one pole stolen a few years back, it's a small hill with a lot of flat spots and I found the faggot snowboarder using my pole to push himself along. Dude just froze up and gave the pole back... it wasn't that big of a deal but it was hilarious.

Somebody stole my line pin poles once off of the rack but returned them too the rack at the end of the day. I guess somebody just borrowed em lol

When I was learning to ski , like 10 years ago, my seasonal rentals were stolen from snow. This year was my first year with a snow season pass (ive done stratton and okemo in years past) and my poles were jacked from carinthia. I sowed the straps together on my poles so I can lock them up now.

Carinthia is great and all but I always feel like I have to watch my back when I comes to my equipment at snow.
