i mean hey I'll steal a Gatorade from the lodge, just like I'll steal from Walmart or other huge retailers (because fuck corporations), but when you steal another persons shit that they worked hard for, that's not OK.
I always split my gear up if I have to leave it. I'll leave one ski in a rack and the other ski in a rack far away so I don't have to deal with thieves.
Do rental poles count? Theyre free with the rental skis so the gapers aren't losing any money. And I just chop em down to about a foot for that hella steeze
My friend took my poles to work when he left from my house one morning, so I had to use his stolen rental poles. A ski patroller saw me with the poles and new they were from the rental shop. He asked how I got them, my name, asked to see my pass and stuff like that. It was pretty awkward, as far as awkward encounters go.
Not gonna lie, i walked off with like 4 pairs of poles from the lost and found on the second to last day of the season last year, but those things had been there for like 3 weeks so i figured nobody would miss them. also if i ever forget gloves or something i'll usually just take a pair from the lost and found for a day then put them back.
I had my Line Blends with marker squires stolen my 3rd week with them, easy 1000$ set up, I fucking hate the kid who stole them. But the happiest day of my life was when the ski patrol found them 4 days later.
Fuck you if you're gonna steal peoples equipment, its expensive and we work hard to earn it. Lock your gear.
Industry friend of mine just posted on Facebook that someone stole his daughter's skis. She's like 8. I hate people who steal skis, but who the fuck steals and eight year old's skis?
I think wild west justice should be brought back for ski theft. Horse thieves used to be hung if they were caught. The reason was because of the importance of the horse as a means of transportation. Skis are a crucial means of transportation for this community, therefore hanging would be an appropriate punishment for ski thieves.
I was working today and my buddys skis were missing after coming back out early in the morning. we found a kid with them and was trying to put his rental boots into them. he said "i thought those were leftover for us to use."
Honestly, the only time i've done it was for good reason, and it really wasn't negatively impacting anybody directly.
I got to the ski resort, realized I forgot gloves, went into the lost & found and snagged some celtek mittens. I asked the guy how long they've been there and he said at least a month so I could have them if I wanted em.
However, anybody who deliberately steals skis or boots is a MASSIVE FUCK and deserves to be anal raped by red hot dildos for 1,000 years by Lucifer himself.
