Petition to get a big competition back to the east.

The east lost Dew Tour, as well as US open. Leaving just the Dumont Cup , and Rails to Riches in retrospect to Dew and the Open aren't big at all.

I for one miss going to the huge events and seeing the top skiers/snowboard throwing down in my stomping grounds.

I cant be the only one that feels this way if you feel the same way let your voice be heard in this thread.

There are many big names in the industry that are on this site let it be known to them that this is wanted.

It's the weather.

Weather on the east is to hit and miss to hold a big comp. Just look at the past comps. They have been canceled for weather to many times to even think about going back to the east coast.

why not? already about the most commercial ski resort in the east. can't get much worse in that respect. has the money + resources and could easily get a huge crowd. pretty much the perfect combinations. it's the Whistler of eastern Canada.

Where to start; First of all its TREMBLANT, they care about one thing, cost vs profits. There is no half pipe with no plans to ever build one again, they would need a lot of new rails (not boxes), any XL size park build is always pretty sketchy, too cold and icy, inconsistent weather patterns.

Man, just because it has Caribou doesn't mean it can hold a 'pro level competition', the amount of work they would have to do would never be worth it. New England is way more suited to hold big events, heck even MSSI/Avila would do a better job.

not saying it would be worth it. but out of any resort in Canada east of the Rockies, they have the biggest financial backing and most resources by a long shot. It could easily be done there.

I don't know the finances of a big event like that, but I could see it making money for the resort rather than it being a sink.


whatever, it'd still be cool to have a big event there.

Thank God for that too... Fkn big name comps can suck my dick. They don't give a fuck about anything but growing their brand so they can eventually move to Aspen. Fuck 'em. I don't care about the Open, the X Games or any of that horseshit. STEFT tho, those guys are fucking awesome and that comp exists solely to kick ass and share the love of the East with those who shred it the hardest.

Not huge, but was the largest prize purse in the midatlantic last year (damn you SJO). 1,000 for first plus a bunch of product. This year hopefully it is larger.

When you compare rails to riches and dumont cup to Dew Tour and the Open they are much smaller comps.

if they put an x-games stop on the EC, I think it would draw a much larger crowd than aspen. lot more shredder folk that would make the trek up from neighboring states

Every year the Dew Tour had an East Coast stop I couldn't make it for some reason or another. Then the summer I saved some extra cash so I could go to the Dew Tour at Killington they decided to take it away. FUCK YOU MOUNTAIN DEW!
