LoL and battlefield 4 servers and other stuff today? Don't know much about it but my friend was bitching because league was shut down, hacked to pieces. Interesting stuff how private people and shut down huge servers like Anonymous did a bit ago with playstation. Kind of mind blowing these guys can sit in their basements and do this stuff. Anyone know anything else? Or care to explain why groups would do this and how it's possible?

I don't know why people still say "sitting in their basement" but those hackers most likely are drop-out Comp. Sci. majors that hack because they have nothing else to do. It's really fucking stupid and annoying though, they mostly do it to get attention, can't wait until they go to prison for 25 years.

Hacking really confuses me tho, I got into it like last year and tried learning about it for months but it's really complex and illegal

Maybe it was some legitimate hackers just doing their jobs? From what I've heard of Battlefield 4 it can't be too hard to find problems with the servers. Just speculating though, I don't know jack and don't even play either of those games.

why not? each game server has an address and send and receives information. I'd say an attack on it would work just fine.

The process of creating a network of slave computers for a large bot net decent enough for a effective DDOS is hacking. Paying someone to use their bot net for a DDOS attack is however not hacking.

i personally think its hilarious just a couple handful of people are able to take down/lag some of the biggest servers on the internet for video games. they dont do it for hours on end, its only about 1-3hrs.

i personally have no idea, i dont follow this hacking stuff too often but i couldnt get on steam which caused me to research this.

this isnt anonymous though, derptrolling is a team of 23 high schoolers, and adults in their maybe 20s, that just DDOS sites as a pure joke with no actual reason. Anonymous is worldwide so i mean its a possibility.

yep... its pretty basic stuff.

Just gotta reroute some ip's, by-pass the firewalls and shutdown the mainframes. Of course you want to make sure you're using base64 asynchronous buffers for the stack overflows.

If I had both hands to type and bonked out on pain meds, I could go into more detail...

Bump. Been following the group Anonymous a lot lately involving Ferguson and the war on Palestine. To me it's a very non biased form of news the leaks out before our media can warp it. Israel is doing fucked up stuff in Gaza. Though the US is an ally they are basically terrorists to Palestinian people. Atrocities occur everyday. Look it up.
