Everglades?

My girl and i are taking a road trip down to Florida for a music festival and were thinking of stopping in the everglades for 2 nights and one full day of exploring.

what is a must do/see thing to do down there? we were thinking of maybe looking into some canoe rental places and taking a day trip to some remote campsite and heading back out the next day, or maybe just a cool long hiking loop or something.

some ideas on stuff we should check out would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

this would probably be way more fun then an airboat ride.

Just dont get eaten by a gator or bit by any cotton mouths or anything like that.

Feed your girlfriend to the gators and find a hotter one down there. Shouldn't be too hard

Rent some kayaks and go on a nature tour, I got to see alligators, manatee, dolphins and some cool birds but that was a tour closer to the ocean and I bet it would be just as cool in the everglades if not better. The animals were bumping my kayak, thats how close I got to them at times.

Do an airboat road. After that the everglades is seriously overrated. Its just a bunch of swamp with gators. You'll see like two of them. If you are trying to camp, find a state park to camp in. Depending on where you are going, check out Markham Park. Its near the everglades.
